85 reducies announced today amongst club staff, some on as little as £15K a year. Out of all the players, the Admistrator announced today, only two offered to take a pay cut to try and help stop this from happening.
The wedge between player and supporter takes a hard knock once again!

Any guesses? David James shouldn't be hurting for cash after all these years.Bruce Rioja wrote:85 reducies announced today amongst club staff, some on as little as £15K a year. Him and Risdale belong in government, they're naturals!BWFC_Insane wrote:How he is still there and getting paid really is beyond me. Poor fella.
Disgraceful really.
85 lose their jobs, and Storrie is still there, not to mention that annoying administrator bloke loving the limelight (it's a matter of time before that tool gets his own reality telly show).
Troll and proud of it.

Aye whats all that about? I've noticed him on telly more than bloody Avram Grant. He's an administrator for fooks sake, a bean counter, not someone who should be getting attention. The guy wouldn't say, but James was first that came to my mind. He also comes across as being a really decent fella.H. Pedersen wrote:Any guesses? Just think, the combined annual salries of the now jobless probably comes out fairly close to the sum that Sol Campbell's got his cap in the ring for! We all really do need to stop and think about that for a moment!

HMRC have dropped their petition to wind-up Pompey, which I guess means our 3 points are safe.

But when do they lose their 9 points?Worthy4England wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8570134.stm

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

I guess in part, they've been waiting on the outcome of this - had it gone ahead and HMRC were given permission to wind up the Company, then there would have been 19 points to lose and a lot of rejigging of everyone's points tally. If they now have clarity that they can operate until the end of the season, then I guess they could lose them any time now.FaninOz wrote:But when do they lose their 9 points?Worthy4England wrote:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8570134.stm

What a pity that the man in the street, 85 of them in fact, are bearing the immediate brunt of the Portsmouth problem whilst the players are giving up nothing and all the loan players are also still at Portsmouth.
Surely the administrater is within his rights to cut 20% from all players irrespective of their contracts and could send all the loans home! Not sure of the law under administration but when I was in bussiness in the UK and employed a lot of people on contract we had the right to amend and terminate contracts in exceptional circumstances, which administration is.
Again another example of players being totally insensitive to their club and their supporters situation, they should be volunteering to take a pay cut!

Would you take a pay cut to save somebody elses job? Not sure if I wouldFaninOz wrote:What a pity that the man in the street, 85 of them in fact, are bearing the immediate brunt of the Portsmouth problem whilst the players are giving up nothing and all the loan players are also still at Portsmouth.

1) The players are actually assets to PFC as they can sell them in some cases for considerable money. So they won't want to risk dicking around with their contracts and leaving themselves open to players being able to walk away for nowt at the end of the season.
2) The staff they released are people who the club can continue running without. They can't without players.
As for loan players I believe they should have been FORCED to send them back as soon as they went into admin by the premier league and the FA. But that reflects on the way the game is governed really.
