It's November. If it happens, fantastic. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. We're just past a third of the way through the season. We've had a great start to the season which could have been even better. The positivity is boundless. But let's keep our feet on the ground and enjoy it - once it becomes within reach, then we can talk about it more.
No, I'm still seriously talking about "not getting relegated".

I've been scrabbling around for this article for a while today....

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion ... 71481.html

Remember....
Let’s be frank, Bolton are basically a blown-up Championship club
Well, here was his follow-up....

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion ... 33989.html
Wanderers are a welcoming, friendly club, who have performed miracles over the last nine years to achieve everything they have done.

However I still believe they would not be in such a mess if Megson had been left to get on with the job.

Don't forget, they weren't in the bottom three when he got the chop and had taken five points from his last three games.
Note the "welcoming, friendly club", rather than "blown-up Championship club"

And now, in a U-turn as dramatic as my last fart (in that he's not said "I was wrong", surprise surprise)...

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion ... 34351.html
I stood up for Gary Megson when he endured the sort of abuse from fans you wouldn't dish out to a dog.

I felt his sacking 11 months ago was harsh and I believe he would have kept Bolton up.

But what is beyond question is that Owen Coyle has built on the solid foundations left by Megson.
That's as close to "Bolton are actually better off without Megson" as we're going to get, I think.

Am I the only one who would have liked to see Jussi take it?

That said, Davies is clearly the regular penalty taker now (even when Taylor is on) so the practice is welcome. He needs to learn how to go left though . . .

He absolutely terrifies me taking them, but so far he has the Germanic knack of sticking them in the corner so the keeper can't get it even if he goes the right way. The only shit one he has taken was the Wigan one last year. That's why Brum shocked the life out of me.

Love it.

I asked him on Twitter if he's always taken penalties in training or for former clubs but he said he's only recently started taking them, which was a surprise but as long as he keeps putting them away, who cares!

Possibly. Most of us that have had a Jaaskelainen clearance land in our lap whilst sat in the upper tier wouldn't really care to endanger those sat behind the goal. Read also - Fabrice Muamba.

I remember the first penalty of the season the team were standing around looking at each other in a 'me? you?' fashion.

Skip to 1:00.

SKD stepped up, looking a bit reluctant, but he buried it. The rest is history.

The 'unrelated' link was supposed to illustrate the 'you, me, you?' part.

He has great technique when it comes to pens, all impeccably struck. Still don't feel totally confident with him taking them yet, but it's coming.

We have ZERO chance of qualifying for the Champions League! Come on we aren't Spurs, City, Villa or Newcastle fans for gods sake, we have too much realism and belief in out teams true abilities to be so stupid as to think that CL is attainable!

So lets all forget that it was mentioned and get back to the realities of gaining 45pts and avoiding relegation!
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

The ones on sat reminded me of super john
same corner, always that bit too far away for the keeper to grasp

OK

here is a related question....I remember Super John missing a pen.....may even have been a shoot out. Team, date, any significance? (I don't know the answer!)

Wasn't it Norwich City in the League cup, during our first Prem season?

he [super john] missed one at home against port vale (?) in a 1-1 draw in a midweek proper league game once. at the lever end. carnt remember if it was saved or missed proper.

i think it was the "rioch finished midtable in division 1" season.

I'm just wondering what comes next for the club after we conquer Europe in 2012?
