Top 5 you mean, since we're number 6. :D What's amazing is that he wasn't even a nailed-on starter for USA in the past. That certainly has to change with the season he's been having.

Never thought much of this lad but I've been watching him the last few games and particularly the last half hour on Sat I was very impressed. Good hard working honest player.

Thought I'd revisit this thread.

Anyone still think he's a "bit average"?

And the "best free signing ever" is looking increasingly plausible. Could have trouble hanging onto this lad in the summer if he carries on as he is.

To use an americanism "awesome".

He really is in the zone. The best thing about him is everyone else seems to lift their game when he is on the pitch.

Till 2013.

He is the "fittest" (no sniggering at the back) player I've seen in a white shirt.

Down to 10 men for half an hour, last few minutes and he makes up ground on 3 Blackburn players when he's not the favourite to smash it in the bottom corner.

I hope he doesn't burn out, though I guess he's had a rest the last couple of weeks whilst he's been out injured.

As much as Mark Davies has done well, I think Muamba and Holden must now be reunited (well Mavies is suspended but after that as well) as they really do look good together!

Yes x 1000. Complement each other excellently, while sharing that excellent central midfield character trait - tenacity... Excellent...

His game came alive when Muamba came on. The most mobile midfield pairing I think I've ever seen in White Shirts.

I stand to be proved wrong, but I can't remember.

Does Mark Davies get a 2 match ban? His first booking was apparently his 5th of the seaon, hence a suspension, then he gets a second yellow to be sent off for another? One match ban

His first half was a bit quiet, but the lad just makes things tick in our midfield. Him and Fabrice has to be the first choice partnership from now on. If Holden carries on like this, I'd expect 7-10 goals from him this season.

Oh and GIVE HIM A NEW CONTRACT.

Yeah, we were wondering that in our bit yesterday - consensus being that he would get 2 games. Not a bad thing that, let his fake tan die down a bit.

I'm not sure. I think it is only a one game ban even so. But he'll be on six bookings towards the ten. That is coming dragged up from a part of my brain that could just as equally be labelled 'in depth premier league rules' as 'made up sh*t'. It's 50-50. As for Holden, brilliant again, him and Muamba complement each other brilliantly. Still got a loooooooooong way to go (BWFCi) before he is in SKD territory, but it's a fantastic start.

Can you rename the thread the Stuart Holden man love thread?

So I can declare mine?

He reminds me of a midfielder very important to another club.....too early days to mention the name though, wouldn't be fair! Passes, tackles, shoots, scores, the lot!

They both fall under the latter label.

This the 'Disco' Stu Holden love in thread.

I think a few people said they weren't too sure about a midfield of Moobs and Stu at the start of the season but I'll safely say that we're all glad we've been prove wrong till now?

We shall see. Generally we go with Michael Bradley and a defensive midfielder, Maurice Edu or Ricardo Clark. A pairing of Bradley and Holden could work.

That said, after the World Cup I wouldn't bet money on Bob Bradley making intelligent selections.
