Told you we wouldn't lose though, at home we're unbelievable.

I thought that's what I wrote when I said "pulled off the save" ? Not luck on the keepers part, just bad luck for us he had the reflexes and skill to do it.thebish wrote:or... good keeping?TANGODANCER wrote:Well, you were right, you didn't lose. fair enough - but a rocky road to stumble down - cos then we'd have to say that we were unbelievably lucky to beat Blackburn because we have a midfielder capable of that fantastic chested volley to go 2-1 up..TANGODANCER wrote:I thought that's what I wrote when I said "pulled off the save" ? Here, TheMackem. North easterners have always been known as a hardy breed. Does it not irritate you to see all this falling down and dying under snowflake challenges? Whatever anybody says about us, you can't accuse us of being softies. Some of the ariel acrobatics in stripes was positively embarrasing today.

Thought neither side was very good. And we were equally as bad or good as them. On that basis we deserved a draw and should have had one right at the end through Klasnic who had he got his shooting boots on would have had a hattrick today.
Fairly dire defending all round for their goal.
But was the difference today not a shitty piece of keeping from Jussi compared to a piece of brilliance from Gordon?
I'd say that was what won em the game and lost it for us.
Not much else to say. Lets hope we bounce back on boxing day!

we have won 29 of the 86 games we have ever played on boxing day...BWFC_Insane wrote: Not much else to say. Lets hope we bounce back on boxing day!
we have played west brom several times on boxing day...
1910 lost 2-0 away
1923 won 5-0 away
1949 won 3-0 at home
1951 lost 3-2 away
since 2001 we have only ever won twice on boxing day - both times against Newcastle...

Didn't think it was Jussi's fault. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet this season.I'll say nowt about Cahill and Knight as a centre half pairing,it's already been said.

I still don't know what Jussi was doing though. Surely he time to react better than that? He must of been expecting a near post shot when Bent got himself in that position!

It was a close range block.haven't seen it since but at the time I didn't find myself swearing at the keeper.

Bad day at the office, draw would have been fair. It's away from home and one of our better players was being rested, can't grumble too much. Maybe CYL was rested to try and sweeten the South Korean FA and let him stay here a bit longer before the Asian Cup.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
Re: Smackems v The Trotters
missed the first half, the second half was really not entertaining at all. To be honest I thought we were going to pull out an equalizer up until the final whistle, guess the last couple of months gets one's hopes up.

Re: Smackems v The Trotters
does the fact chungy will be heading abroad for a short while mean we will re-call danny ward for cover on the wing along with rodrigo? does anyone know what the situation with his loan spell at coventry is? i know hes been injured a fair whack like but not sure what the actual in's and out's of his loan spell are

Re: Smackems v The Trotters
Cattermole should have gone for the tackle on Elmander. Second yellow, if not a straight red. The referee was abysmal, in the pocket of Bruce and the Sunderland supporters all day.
That said we never really got going. I thought Klasnic was going to have another one of his super-sub appearances but he looked off the pace. I guess you can't expect a guy to play 15 minutes every other week and still be sharp when the ball falls to him.

That will be why he was booed off at half time with " cheat " ringing in his lugs cos he was giving Sunderland everything ?H. Pedersen wrote:Cattermole should have gone for the tackle on Elmander. I thought he favoured Bolton first half and kept his cards in his pocket on more than one occasion, i certainly recall one 2 footed challange that went unpunished,in the middle just inside the Bolton half ? ( admittedly he did get the ball but you cant jump in like that these days )
I agree with you the ref was poor but i didnt see any Sunderland bias, most refs hate us anyway.

I think refs have been against us in general though , some of them strike poses and get a hard on over the hatred, then they re run match of the day and wank over the vitriol im sure of it. Riley, Bennet, Dean all stranglewankers.

I thought he handled the Bent shot quite well, Sunderland were still second favourites with the rebound, and still managed to score.BWFC_Insane wrote:The defending for their goal was shite all round.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Didn't think it was Jussi's fault. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet this season.I'll say nowt about Cahill and Knight as a centre half pairing,it's already been said.
