Indeed it is. And I wasn't debating with you.thebish wrote:oi! this isn't a debating thread - just a place to put the names of things that piss you off!
Back to the matter in hand - why the &*$% has it taken an internal email audit by News International (wankers!) to reveal that there was an awful lot more to the illegal phone-tapping scandal? I know it's been asked before but what on Earth were to Met Police doing or more importantly not doing when they were investigating that a few years back? Surely it would be basic policing to seize and process all the email records in such a case? Apparently not...

The mother of this lad is giving me the right hump. Lets blame everybody for his suicide in order to deflect attention away from her failings as a Mother.

Harsh. She doesn't in fact do that. In fact she admits he was no angel. However I'd say, myself, four grown men punching a four teen year old lad in the nose as a 'distraction' is not really on. It isn't his fault, even if his parenting was terrible. The stories come out of these places seem to indicate some of the staff are people who should be involved in these cases, and others are of the sort who enjoy abusing power, and lording it over the weak. See for example the nursing home owners and staff who allowed unspeakable horrors to go on.

"They should be facing court proceedings for assaulting a little boy, because that's what Adam was, a little boy."
A little boy who was in there for wounding an innocent little boy. She then accuses the service of 'killing her son'. I imagine a 14 year old kid with a history of violence takes some restraining.

Four of them, and one fourteen year old boy, and they punched him in the face. There are also allegations that staff beating the children and turning off cameras whilst they did so. You are talking about a mother who has lost her child. Personally I think it is a good idea that there is a proper investigation when the youngest person to die in captivity for over a century is found hung hours after being assaulted. Let's not forget that this inquest has found she is correct, and this horrendously euphemistic 'distraction' caused a more than minimal contribution to his death.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
we could "imagine" all sorts of things - but I doubt it would be that helpful... given that the court - considering all the evidence concluded that they used unreasonable and illegal force - then I'd say then issue is not quite so obvious as your imagination would have it...Harry Genshaw wrote:"I'm hoping to have the staff charged with assaulting Adam.Prufrock wrote:Harsh. Still a terrible thing when a 14 year old takes his own life. Whatever the circumstances.

She is, in the interview you post, calm, rational and right. In every respect. What do you know about her failings as a mother? Or anything else that might have turned this child into a prisoner at fourteen where, it seems, FOUR adult males couldn't restrain him without assault.Harry Genshaw wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-12297125

Let there be an investigation, and, as she says, if there has been a criminal assault, let the perpetrators come to trial.

Exactly. They had to assault the feral little feck* as he was trying to bite them. Try reading all of this stuff, William!William the White wrote:FOUR adult males couldn't restrain him without assault.
Let there be an investigation indeed!

I read the link posted from beginning to end. What else do you want me to read? Post a link if there is anything. You know, I'm a reader.Bruce Rioja wrote:Exactly. So, from the link Harry G put up, and the interview with the child's mother, what do you disagree with in what I wrote?

This. You are the conservatives. You favour corporations and wealth over employees. Everyone gets this. Why do you have to insert bullshit sentences about how this policy is good for employees. It isn't. It isn't supposed to be. One line about sacking more people means more jobs for everyone, yeah, just makes you sound MORE like nice people.

I'm getting angry that this thread veers off onto heavy, serious stuff better placed for the Politics thread.
This is for pointless, irrational, trivial bollox which has irritated someone beyond sense .... or at least I think it is.
Anyway, if you want angry, I'm utterly p'd off that the inner lining of my right shoe has slipped and keeps crumpling up resulting in the twin irks that it rubs my footarch AND manages to twist my sock around so that the fecking heel ends up at the instep within 30m of putting it back in place. Now THAT is making me bloody angry.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
