Stoke and Bolton - two proper clubs
Founders of the Football League, 'ard workin'towns, definitely carrying no glory hunters.
I think we should jointly go to Wembley 'old-fashioned' - proper fans' dress and behaviour from the days of Stanley Matthews and Nat Lofthouse: flat caps, mufflers, overcoat or proper jacket, shined shoes. NO baseball caps, replica shirts, tracksuits, denims. Definitely NO iphones. No burgers at the ground, but bring your own snap - oatcakes with cold bacon, egg sandwiches for the toffs. Visit a Soho stripclub after the game ...

Good idea. In keeping with the theme, Rory Delap should be banned from long throws since in those days it was impossible to throw it more than 5 ft.

One thing's for sure; if he'd tried to wipe the ball with a towel for throw ins he'd have ended up wearing it as a bandage.hi there, i'm chris wrote:Good idea. In keeping with the theme, Rory Delap should be banned from long throws since in those days it was impossible to throw it more than 5 ft.

Love your sense of humour but we're all modenised these days. What cotton mills are left are all catalogue warehouses now and the cloggers shops and ironmongers are all cash-converters, nail parlours and sunbed emporiums. We have an annual "spot the whippet" competition that nobody ever wins. All our players are upmarket, live in semis, drive Fiat Puntos and send out for takeaways. Flat caps are fashion items and suits only worn for weddings, funerals and court appearances.deliasmith wrote:Founders of the Football League, 'ard workin'towns, definitely carrying no glory hunters.

It means the paddock wouldn't have been as tolerant as our current crowds in relation to Delaps anticsmartin1877coywm wrote:lol what does that meanTANGODANCER wrote:One thing's for sure; if he'd tried to wipe the ball with a towel for throw ins he'd have ended up wearing it as a bandage.hi there, i'm chris wrote:Good idea.
