Having seen us win 10 times and lose only 3 it seems great value for money.
I really don't know what some people expect. Given the spending power of the top six, the highest we're ever realistically likely to finish is seventh.

He inherited a team that was in the bottom three from Megson who spent a sizeable amount on some very average players, so the fact that we've spent much of this season in the top half is a minor miracle and in no small part down to OC's ability as a manager.
As disappointing as the last three results have been, the players have still overachieved this season and for those moaning about the end to the season, there are still two games to play...
could it also have something to do with the declining standard of the barclayspremierleague.
could be tantamount to heresy but OC still has a bit to prove for me. with no pressure on, against a weak Sunderland, most of our players were truly woeful today in terms of movement, passing and most worryingly positional awareness.
the only exceptions were Sturridge and Cahill whose play only demonstrate just how shite the rest were.

So if the Premier League is full of average teams, doesn't that prove that OC has added something that all but seven other managers haven't been able to?

Maybe he can't but that doesn't mean he has to shunt Sturridge out on the wing to accomodate the stump

Muamba is a very decent player who has regressed under Coyle

And Robinson was second in the BWSA POTY poll - a long way in front of his 2 million Spaniard

And taylor who is also shit is in front of his Bulgarian

And our manager who cannot be questioned keeps playing Zat fcuking Knight

Anybody still want to make a case for that

The top 10 finish and a cup semi make this a good season but as Coyle reminds us, it's fine margins

I'm less optimistic than I was 12 months ago

You've conveniently ignored the fact that Holden and Sturridge (without whom you seem to think we'd have been relegated) were also signed by Coyle and they've been two of our best players this season. Given the fact that he's had f**k all to spend, he's not done too badly so far.

maybe. but its not proven- not after today and certainly not after Wembley. today was really poor and i dont buy the "nothing to play for" pish. there were plenty out there who have plenty to play for in my book.
big, big summer for Coyle.
on the whole i've been pleased with the quality of the games i've been to this season which i never was under Megson but the last few weeks have been very very poor.

No, his signings are all great, including Wheater

You reckon you can tell me why he doesnt pick him

And Sturridge is great - not a right winger, like

So you're judging him on the last few games? What about the rest of the season? Eighth not good enough?

BL3: Don't take it too serious. The mood on the site depends upon the result. If we beat Arsenal like we did less than 2 weeks ago the team, manager and players are gods. Play a couple bad games and it is time to line up the whole lot of them and shoot the bastards. Things tend to cool down as the week progresses.

still carnt figure out why he dropped wheater for the semifinal .

you'd think he'd be back in the team by now. but it took him ages to drop petrov.

also 'our manager who cannot be questioned' as an abbrieviation -for use on here - is ace .

i,m not saying he's not the messiah
just that he might not be - and in those last few games including the utter shambles that was Wembley - he and the players he has selected have been short.
eighth is fine but we are 4 points clear of 14th and as someone else has said- fine margins

Just a quick one .... was the first goal offide or not ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

had a feeling that it was not going to be our day and what a kick in the teeth

err... maybe because he signed him as cover - and that's precisely how he's using him?

Can we just stop this 'One who cannot be questioned' crap here, its utter bs and everyone knows it.
For example every supporter in the country questioned him over his choices at Wembley (starts for petrov and klasnic especially) and he took this on board and beat Arsenal the next week. Of course he can be questioned, he's only human at the end of the day, but unlike HWCNBN you can tell Owen is really trying, and giving his all to the club and to us the fans.

What people have to remember is there's only so much a manager can do with limited resources at a relatively small club (in terms of overall attendances/cash flow). Still feel a top 10 finish would be a job well done, would love to see us hold on to 8th but il settle for 9th if blackpool can stay up and wigan/west ham go down.
