I can't understand why grown men bother buying them as they generally look shit, cheap and are a guaranteed turn off to the opposite sex.

I've never understood why people have a problem with 'grown men' wearing their team's football shirt to a match. It's just another way of supporting your team. You're going to be wearing some sort of shirt, so why not a football shirt? You might as well criticise someone for wearing a team bobble hat or a scarf to a game. It just sounds like snobbery to me.

Yup. I wear mine with pride on match days. Whether I'm going to the game or (more often than) not. F*ck what anyone else thinks.

Exactly! I guess i could understand your point if someone over the age of 18 wore a football shirt say to a restaurant, on a night out or such like, but theres nowt wrong with wearing it to a game, or just general wear around town,tesco etc. Also about the whole shirt being 'guranteed turn off to the opposite sex', well whatever helps you sleep at night

i kindda agree with acorn. i have no problem with blokes wearing their shirt for the match, thats great. (although i wouldnt do myself) or to play footy in. but theres no place for them on grown men in supermarkets or down the shops or pubs when theres no game on... & i despise seeing them in airports! (unless they're on their way to a european away game of course)

incidentally, i was listening to the dmb v shalke game in the car the other week when i called in prestwich tesco. i saw 2 (separate) adult males doing their shopping in bright red utd shirts, one of them had his lad with him also in a utd shirt!! wtf is all that about!?
