What?
So the Captain of Newcastle with two years left on his contract and circa 12 premiership goals under his belt last season is set to join Championship side West Ham?
He must be bloody mad. That, or they're offering him uber-money.

So they're linked with Diouf, Nolan and Gardner and have signed Faye.
They must really love us. I may consider going watching a few games at Upton Park next season. Just look at it as an extended Masters Tournament.

Or he's an unambitious but extremely greedy (in a couple of senses) mercenary tosserGary the Enfield wrote:BwfcDan wrote:Nolan having medical. I feel we've missed a trick there..

I suspect that Nolan's position in Newcastle's starting eleven is under threat with the likes of Ben Afra coming through and therefore may lose his captaincy.Gary the Enfield wrote:BwfcDan wrote:Nolan having medical. I feel we've missed a trick there..

Nolan likes being the big fish so I wouldn't be suprised if he was given the captain's position by Sam.
Deal is rumoured at 3 years at 50,000 pw with an option for a fourth - which is as good as it will get at 29.
Who next - SKD and Jussi?

I'm sure Newcastle offered a good new deal, so he cant have gone for much more money given that Spam are now in the Fizzy Pop league - i dont see it as being mercenary i see it as rather drop a division to work with a manager i like than stay here with Pardew.

He was under contract for a couple of years, he made the decision to leave and has done it quickly because Big Sam wants him back.

So having seen this Kaka-esque icon appear willing to leave, other managers have just decided to sit back and let Allardyce take him?
His weaknesses are well-known, hence the lack of interest from proper clubs.

Excuse the ignorance but how do you know who and who did not enquire about him? Is this a case of knowing everythng there needs to know about football from the Loughborough Echo again?

It seems pretty obvious to me.
'Talented' footballer becomes available for transfer
'Talented' footballer ends up at the arse-end of nowhere FC
In the middle of all that lies mystery and intrigue, and a layer of double cream.

Football is just that simple.
Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
So he can get Hunt, Ben Haim and Gardner to have a complete ex-wanderers back 4. Theres a lot of players from that era knocking about Nolan, Diouf...Vaz Te..
