No, we're signing Fabregas ?!?!?! Whey-hey Owen, nice one !TKIZ! wrote:Gary Cahill is 5/6 to join Arsenal amid rumours of talks with the Bolton defender, while Cesc Fabregas is 1/5 to depart The Emirates for Barcelona this summer. Click here for our Transfer Specials

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

You're sad enough
Lets see if Iles 'exclusive' has already been reported before it appears on a version of the BEN or Iles twatter page
FWIW - I'd go for the definitive being that he isn't leaving for less than 17 million, cash, no player + deals
Interesting development? Ermm, there isn't a 'sell on' owed to Villa, perchance
Anywway, do that for me

F*cking hell, cheer up. It's a forum, very few people are, as they say, 'in the know', I very much doubt anyone on here knows where Cahill is heading, who is coming and how much we'll be getting. No-one is under any illusion that the last 30 whatever pages and the last 100 and whatever pages in the other transfer bit is 99.9% speculation.
I can almost half-understand someone speaking in monotonous, condescending, dry sarcasm 24/7. To take the time and effort to log onto a website and type like that is a new one on me.

Jimbo I don't think Caps embraces the 'fun' of the transfer window. To be fair he is probably right not to get carried away and treat everything with cynicism. Likelihood is that all the Cahill to Arsenal talk has been premature and we will be non the wiser come next week!

whereas one who does seem positively frolicky and jolly as we discuss transfers is.... errrrrr..... BWFCi!BWFC_Insane wrote:Jimbo I don't think Caps embraces the 'fun' of the transfer window.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Interesting hypothetical. All four (and Bentley) would improve us, natch, but it depends on wages - Keane's in particular will be out of our league.BWFC_Insane wrote:Ok we all know its not happening, BUT as a hypothetical situation and forgetting about wages, which of the 4 Spurs players rumoured to be offered would you take?
For me Bassong and Hutton would be no brainers, definitely improve us and realistically couldn't see us signing much better elsewhere.
Jenas, not for me.
Keane as it stands would be better than Robbie Blake but would not be worth it if we could bring in better.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Anyways most papers reporting City have pulled out of any deal.
Spurs are apparently "interested" but have to sell first before buying, and any deal is highly unlikely.
So it looks like we're at the mercy of Arsenal. Which could well mean we're a bit fooked here.

Just usual TW stuff. It won't help anyone's cause if they claim they'll do anything to get him.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Lots of stuff going on behind the scenes no doubt. At least if 'arry's interested then its something to make Arsenal meet us somewhere close to what we want.

Citeh are trying to make us jealous by looking at some posh foreign totty...
Manchester City's interest in Gary Cahill has waned and the club are looking at the Montenegro defender Stefan Savic, one of several lower-profile players identified as potential recruits.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
But still they gotta decide, do they spend 8m on some untested foregin chappie, or 15 million on a proven Prem player which also gets their quota of UK players up. I stil think City are in the game on this one.

I don't think they are. Mancini was never that interested apparently, it was more Marwood who was advising the Cahill deal.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:But still they gotta decide, do they spend 8m on some untested foregin chappie, or 15 million on a proven Prem player which also gets their quota of UK players up. If City wanted him they'd have got him by now.

I think thats a bit over the top..they may well have wanted him, but i'm assuming you mean 'at all costs', which assumes you know what we wanted from City in return - bearing in mind City's interest was in the earyl early stages of the TW stage, when we were probably a bit more relaxed about the whole situation.BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't think they are. Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
The funny bit is Savic had a trail with Arsenal 18 months ago and could have had him for 1 million pound, and after a week of trail and a closed door game, they declined the chance sign him....Just give us Cahill, its just us and Harry left. And you dont wanna do deals with dodgy Harryohjimmyjimmy wrote:But still they gotta decide, do they spend 8m on some untested foregin chappie, or 15 million on a proven Prem player which also gets their quota of UK players up. We were talking to City for quite a while by all accounts. Its not like they don't have the money......ohjimmyjimmy wrote:I think thats a bit over the top..they may well have wanted him, but i'm assuming you mean 'at all costs', which assumes you know what we wanted from City in return - bearing in mind City's interest was in the earyl early stages of the TW stage, when we were probably a bit more relaxed about the whole situation.BWFC_Insane wrote:I don't think they are. Arsenal hanging around twiddling their fingers and being indecisive is par for the course, but City probably had a look see then decided they'd look elsewhere.
Time will tell anyhow, but to me its not looking great. Hopefully Arsene will panic and do the deal!
