Interesting that the Labour Party leader, after years of toadying up to Murdoch, has now drawn a line in the sand. Could be a dangerous game if the British Public maintain their stance of being spoon-fed by the Murdoch Empire. Time of course will tell whether its just populism, but when Portillo (on This Week) even says that appointing Andy Coulson was an act of hubris, you know somethings rotten in Denmark. Or something.

Be interesting to see whether all this is forgotten in a week or two, but even a politician like Zach Goldsmith (naturally after a sycophantic opening referring to him as "intelligent") condemned the House's kow-towing to Murdoch, so maybe, just maybe theres going to be a sea-change. After all, wasn't Stalin quite a bright guy?

I might be taking too simplistic a view here, but I do wonder whether the main reason (apart from the fact that NI seem to be able to sway opinion with people who can barely read) that politicians toady to NI is that they're worried if they don't something will be turned up from their past. Maybe that says as much about the politicians as the press.

I'm not sure about the link between our election mechanics and the ability of (for example) backbenchers to speak out against it.

So I found Disney's The Black Cauldron for $16.

I got dogged around.

The other two dvds are Seasons 2&3 and 4&5 of Viva La Bam.


Then went to the ABC Shop and got 'Are you being Served' for a high $17.99 (dvd is not for me but I will have to see it)

Tonight (now) I'll either watch; Some of the Footy, Season 3 end of Episode 7 and all of 8 - Degrassi Junior High
or an episode of Impact W so I can then delete it; plus I recorded Baseball Tonight.

Cricket, then a truly excellent acting portrayal of Vincent Van Gogh by Ben Cumberbach. Very well presented documentary using Van Gogh's own letters to his brother as the script. Harsh, stark and no-frills production depicting the reality of a tragic and disturbed man. Great.
