Feckin right...Lord Kangana wrote:Newsnight.
Should be interesting.
so nice to see, for just once... just feckin once... those bastards that really deserve it getting it and squirming...
and, yet, even here, typically, the workers, print and journos, who, for the most part, didn't commit the crime lose their jobs... while the guilty continue to mint it...
outrageous...

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Interesting that the Labour Party leader, after years of toadying up to Murdoch, has now drawn a line in the sand. Could be a dangerous game if the British Public maintain their stance of being spoon-fed by the Murdoch Empire. Time of course will tell whether its just populism, but when Portillo (on This Week) even says that appointing Andy Coulson was an act of hubris, you know somethings rotten in Denmark. Or something.
Be interesting to see whether all this is forgotten in a week or two, but even a politician like Zach Goldsmith (naturally after a sycophantic opening referring to him as "intelligent") condemned the House's kow-towing to Murdoch, so maybe, just maybe theres going to be a sea-change. After all, wasn't Stalin quite a bright guy?

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Miliband is as amenable as every other politician... as far as he's concerned the answer is blowing with the wind...Lord Kangana wrote:Interesting that the Labour Party leader, after years of toadying up to Murdoch, has now drawn a line in the sand. It won't be forgotten in a week or two... this has legs, there will be months of revelations... the question is who plays them better...
The disaster for our system is that it produces no politicians with sufficient independence to tell the truth about the joint complicity with Murdoch... They are all compromised, because they all felt they needed to be News Int approved... and that's cos they're all chasing a middle...
The LibDem cowardness and ineptness on PR screws the hopes of a genuine democratic debate...

The only silver lining is that clearly his son is a spineless goon, so the Empire will crumble once Vader has shuffled off this mortal coil.

I might be taking too simplistic a view here, but I do wonder whether the main reason (apart from the fact that NI seem to be able to sway opinion with people who can barely read) that politicians toady to NI is that they're worried if they don't something will be turned up from their past. Maybe that says as much about the politicians as the press.William the White wrote:Miliband is as amenable as every other politician... as far as he's concerned the answer is blowing with the wind...Lord Kangana wrote:Interesting that the Labour Party leader, after years of toadying up to Murdoch, has now drawn a line in the sand. I'm not sure about the link between our election mechanics and the ability of (for example) backbenchers to speak out against it.

Milliband has just spoken for a whole half an hour at least in a very portentious voice - and succeeded in saying pretty much nothing at all. He's a disaster....William the White wrote:Miliband is as amenable as every other politician... as far as he's concerned the answer is blowing with the wind...Lord Kangana wrote:Interesting that the Labour Party leader, after years of toadying up to Murdoch, has now drawn a line in the sand. Re: What are you watching tonight?
I went to get the Charlie Murphy dvd and saw something else, went to put them on lay by and had to have a minimum total of $50;
So I found Disney's The Black Cauldron for $16.
I got dogged around.
The other two dvds are Seasons 2&3 and 4&5 of Viva La Bam.
Then went to the ABC Shop and got 'Are you being Served' for a high $17.99 (dvd is not for me but I will have to see it)
Tonight (now) I'll either watch; Some of the Footy, Season 3 end of Episode 7 and all of 8 - Degrassi Junior High
or an episode of Impact W so I can then delete it; plus I recorded Baseball Tonight.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Cricket, then a truly excellent acting portrayal of Vincent Van Gogh by Ben Cumberbach. Very well presented documentary using Van Gogh's own letters to his brother as the script. Harsh, stark and no-frills production depicting the reality of a tragic and disturbed man. Great.
