Your argument doesn't stand up to even the most basic of scrutiny.

We were offered cashmoney for a player. We took it. He can say what he likes in the press, just like when we were told that the Anelka money was additional. He was a saleable asset. We sold him to the first offer. See also Gudjohnson, E.

He'd still be called 'Jay' though !!

As I've said all along he's had the chances on loan to develop and whilst he's looked a solid league one player he's not stood out enough. No point keeping the lad and holding his career back.

Huddersfield just sold Pilkington to Norwich, so Ward will be his replacement so it makes sense.

Big few weeks coming up for Coyle now that IMO will define his time here.
I don't doubt what you are saying but it is a pity that he hasn't been given an opportunity to prove his self at the top level.

What do you think Ward is worth? Didn't we buy him for £1m so we would want at least that. Maybe up to £2m?[/quote]

Its said a 6 figure fee. That could be anything from £100,000 to £999,000. I'd guess mid section of those figures. £500,000, seems a reasonable deal to me.

Yes this is exactly the same as selling Gudjohnsen. Exactly.

This summer is no different to any other. Nobody is suggesting we're going on a spending spree. But Eddie Davies hasn't suddenly decided he's no longer interested in supporting the club.

I love the fact we haven't brought more than Pratley in yet is cos we have "no money" as opposed to a generally slow transfer market, overinflated prices and the difficulty of trying to persuade players to join us ahead of all our competitors.

If we've got no money Coyle could well have been told he has to sell to buy. In that case unless Ward was looking like being able to contribue this season then short term pennies outranks the risk on a young player whose potential we don't know. Especially given it doesn't look like there are too many keen on our valuation of Cahill.

So cheap he could curry favour with Bobo by changing his name to the very solid 'Maureen'.

I get what you are saying Pru but I don't believe the couple of hundred thousand we are getting up front would be incentive enough to sell a player like Ward if we have no money whatsoever. If as LK suggests we don't even have the money to bring in the Bosmans Coyle claims he has dismissed then 200 thousand for Ward won't change owt and will leave the squad a player light with no chance to bring anyone else in. Sorry just don't buy it!

Supposed to be interested in some guy called Tobias Levels from Borussia Munching Glass Back (or somethig similar) - according to the Gernan version of goal.com. As with most our supposed targets I've never 'erd of 'im.

Since i'm from Germany i know him very well. The reason for his departure is mostly the appointment of Lucien Favre back in February, but to be honest he wasn't the sharpest in the last year. He's a right back and is able to play Centre Back and CM/DM.
I don't really see that coming, we don't really need another RB and he would only be 4th choice behind the three CB's oder the three CM's.

btw: it's Borussia Mönchengladbach, you really should know this team back from the 70s.

Watch him against Liverpool a while back, looks ok at going forward but would fit in well with our other defenders at actually defending! Rash at tackling, always going to ground for a tackle.

I'd say a player who can play RB/CB could well be on the list.

Whether this guy is any good who knows?
