Didn't say he was right, and we don't know if he thinks Knight is good, he might just think he's a better bet than Wheater!CAPSLOCK wrote:Coyle thinks Knight is good....

Then why sign Wheater? Coyle always bangs on about improving the squad...............BWFC_Insane wrote:Didn't say he was right, and we don't know if he thinks Knight is good, he might just think he's a better bet than Wheater!CAPSLOCK wrote:Coyle thinks Knight is good....
Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
To be fair, Wheater just needs to be better than the worst CB in the squad to improve it
However, I'd love to know whether Wheater regrets his move, yet

Don't know, I suspect that he sees Wheater as a younger player who could be developed over time. Wheater primarily signed because we were selling AOB and needed some cover! Knight was also less error prone in that period IIRC!Hoboh wrote:Then why sign Wheater? Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I'd be the last person to defend Knight (especially after watching the Liverpool game) but it did seem to me that Knight tended to play much better last season when he was not paired with Cahill (Cahill being out through injury, suspension, etc.). Wishful thinking perhaps.BWFC_Insane wrote:Don't know, I suspect that he sees Wheater as a younger player who could be developed over time. Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Is williams a no go ? I know they rejected our first move for him but if we sell cahill maybe we can afford a higher bid.
Id take him over any of the replacements mentioned so far. At this rate we will be playing Bogdan at centre back.

I thought Knight got a bit of bad press with the Bolton fans but after the last two games I now know I was wrong. Sorry.

Coyles spent £5m on defenders and not improved the defense; just the squad. Whether its personnel or tactics that is THE question for Owen as far as I'm concerned.

Can't see anyone under the age of 29 going to QPR.

Aye - that was rumoured on Saturday too but I didn't give it much credence due to the source.Bruce Rioja wrote:Talk of Th'Arse being in for Alex now, too.

Before yesterday's game. Not sure Chelsea will sell to Arsenal.
Fits in with my top secret Cahill to Chelsea theory though.
