@Bennyy156 Think the story was planted to scare Bolton. Didn't work.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
Couldn't give a feck who they are in for. If we don't sell him then we get Cahill till at least the end of the season. If we do sell him then we make some money and can sign a few players

Not sure about the validity of this, he's claiming actual bid was 8m + 1m after 50 games + 2m more potentially.
That's by the by, the bit I'm interested in is the further one year option. Would that mean the club can enforce an extra year without Cahill's agreement? Surely not?

Can't see us going for that, can't see Cahill go for that one year option eitherjimbo_bwfc wrote:http://www.thenational.ae/sport/footbal ... line-looms

A writer from the times said that was the original offer, the one cited as "derisory" and reported at £6m...

Aye, is the Alex thing supposed to worry us into selling Cahill for a ridiculously low price?BWFC_Insane wrote:6 or 8 it's still a joke of an offer!hisroyalgingerness wrote:A writer from the times said that was the original offer, the one cited as "derisory" and reported at £6m...

Often wondered whether something like this would exist ie if the release amount is not triggered then we can extend for a year so as to not lose out on a free.jimbo_bwfc wrote:http://www.thenational.ae/sport/footbal ... line-looms

Seems nuts that GC would agree to that now, but at the time it was signed things may have looked very different.

True HRG, I'm relaxed either way.
Wheater, Knight, Steinnson, Robbo, Boyata, Ricketts, Riley, and maybe Connolly, can all play in the first team that's 8! If we get another body in that'll be 9 and I haven't even counted Alonso or Mears

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Second bid "way short" of 12m rejected according to The Telegraph.

Also suggests we'd go for Dann if we sold Cahill. Would be very happy with all that happening. Birmingham are desperate for a sale.

Full text, for those not willing to follow jimbo's lies
Dann is OK, nowt specialArsène Wenger made his original offer for Cahill, a long-term target, last week but saw a bid of just £6 million rejected out of hand by their Premier League rivals. Though the defender has a £17 million buy-out clause in his contract, Coyle would accept a compromise figure of around £12 million.
The Scot is adamant he will not deviate from that amount, though – insisting after Saturday’s defeat at Anfield that he would not “buckle” despite pressure from Arsenal – and sources at Bolton feel it is now unlikely Wenger will meet their asking price.
Coyle has lined up Scott Dann, the Birmingham centre back, as a replacement for Cahill should the former Aston Villa player leave. Dann is also thought to be a target for Blackburn, another club affected by Wenger’s desperate need for defensive reinforcements.

Re: Official Gary Cahill transfer thread
I reckon that Spurs going to put in bid of player plus cash deal for Cahill. Maybe Bentley and hopefull Crouch or Pav with some cash so we can get Onouha?? I'd also sack off that lanky piece of shit Zat Knight and have Wheater and onouha cb's and boyata rb with alonso when fit lb decent defence.
