There isn't an Italian restaurant anywhere in the world that can cook a meal that comes even close to a half decent curry.

Pasta and tomato sauce, my arse.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.
Poor man last, rich man first.

Both serve a purpose.

Bit more to Italian cooking than pasta and sauce too!

Yes - just a bit. And more than pizza also.

But so few 'Italians' prove it...

Anyone been in Leo's in Horwich? Think it's just under £12 for 3 courses, really good food too. If I'm not mistaken Casa Nostra in Westhoughton is owned by the same people.
Been to Portofinos and really liked it there too.
I love Italian food.

That's quite possibly the most short-sighted comment I've read since I read that Mr Magoo was struggling with his idiot boards!

Deary me.

What a tit, coming out with that.

I presume you mean "Italian restaurants" in the UK?

I'd agree. Though there are some gems.

San Carlo for one. Top top notch!

Would get my vote too as would Bella Vista in Milnrow near Hollingworth Lake (although it's been a fair while since I've been there)

Pasta and tomato sauce, my arse.

You do realise 'Italian' doesn't mean cheesey garlic bread and a pepperoni pizza from a shop that specialises in keebabs, don't you?

Curry is good, but not a patch on proper Italian food.

My eyes have been well and truly opened here Pru. I know Domino's now does chicken wings as a "side", but what else is there?

You can get this garlic bread with cheese AND tomato on! Some weird fecker's even like mushroom! Pepperoni AND bacon!

Seriously though, Italian food is a-ma-zing.

My own favourite 'meal' being:

Penne with chicken and chives in a gorgonzola, cream, and white wine sauce (soooo good).

Nice piece of lamb with a piece of pancetta and a sage leaf (stuck onto it with a toothpick while you cook it, pancetta side first to get all the saltiness).

Tiramasu for pud.

OMNOM.
