Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Terrible Clapton. Especially for the 3 children. It makes friends & family so frustrated as, as you say, people would help ... but by that stage the person often feels they can't inflict themselves upon others.
There is rarely a way to rationalise it.
Truly my sympathy.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
the anger is normal - as is the guilt that anyone feels when someone they know commits suicide... be gentle with yourself wherever your emotions take you in the coming weeks...clapton is god wrote:A good friend and former colleague of mine hanged himself this morning. I am absolutely gutted, never been so gutted for many years. I am also angry about it, yes. He had three young children and many friends all of whom would have helped in the blink of an eye if only he had told one of us he was hurting. He didn't. He kept whatever it was to himself.
we currently have two people who's relatives committed suicide in our bereavement support group (one their mother - and the other their 22yr old son) it compounds grief and messes up so many lives... there are questions that you will never be able to answer - sometimes there is no sense to it all - don't tear yourself apart trying...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
My condolences, cig. I've lost a number of friends and family over the years and it's never easy. All of them were, though, of 'natural' causes. Some were far too young. I have no doubt that you will now resort to some sort of soul searching and attempt to analyse why you and his other friends didn't pick up on his state of mind. Try not to. As thebish says, there are questions that are unanswerable. Grieve by all means, that's only natural, but trying to place blame on yourself or anyone else is a fruitless exercise. Remember him as you knew him and not as he died.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Much obliged for the thoughts, fellas, all appreciated. I've lost many friends over the years and I suppose I average three of four funerals a year - only natural when the years pile up behind you. This one very different though as he was only a young man and it really broke me up yesterday. The gut wrenching thing is the kids. How could you ever get tired of looking at their smiles? My own dad died when I was ten and I've missed him every day since. He has now subjected these kids to the same fate. And anger for his mum who found him! And I'm fcuking angry with the company too! They have expert medical staff and supervisors who are supposed to be man managers, or they were when I was there. I don't blame myself, Dujon, that's not a big part of the equation. I hadn't worked with him for several years and wasn't in daily contact but I still saw him regularly. No sense in it at all. Anyway, apologies for even mentioning it here and thanks again for your thoughts.

Clapton. My nephew died during an epilepsy attack whilst working in France. He was just 28. I've always been really close to my brother, lifetime mates, but it almost killed him. He felt he'd nothing left to live for and was very low for a considerable time. Time heals eventually and he recovered, but it was a terrible period. Grief's always about the ones left behind and I hope his family manage to see it through. Their sun will shine again in the future as will your own.

C.I.G.
I'm sorry for your loss. There's nothing worse for a parent than to bury their child. Your friend's parents have a difficult few days ahead.
Having said that my particular sympathy is with the wife and young kids.
Just let them know you're there for when they need you. And don't apologise for venting on here.

dunno, no proof of any of it to link to someone...all we can do is keep telling the council and keep presenting the evidence...think it's time to invest in some kind of video camera because its gone past being a joke.

Wire all the metal bits on the door up to the mains.

I know this will not make you feel any better in the slightest but look on the bright side; it could've been worse, it could've been dog shit.Verbal wrote:cam home to find someone had covered the door locks in mars bar. spent about quarter of an hour fishing it out.
