He's got a contract of employment. I'd say he's just in the same position as anyone else with one of those.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

No expert on constructive dismissal, I think it would be an issue best handled by our resident Welsh clown (go on, bite) but I'm fairly sure there is an unfairness aspect that must be proven for 'constructive dismissal'. Might be all right in the terms the General suggests. No different than bringing in training on the job? Not sure you could 'construct' that the club were trying to dismiss him if they intended him to be in sole charge next year?
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Depends how beligerent he's feeling, how panicky Big Phil is, or indeed whats in that contract.
At the moment, goodwill is on our side, so an acrimonious divorce like last time isn't on the cards. However, I'm sure theres a an inverse proportion graph of diminishing amounts of time and increasing potential for a nasty outcome.
If they're going to do it, it needs to be quick and clean. But we've come this far, I'm not so certain there as many options on the board's table as people here would like. And he's out of contract come seasons end. If they had the funds it would better serve the situation to just put him on gardening leave. I doubt we'll hear the childish carping at the end of it that we did last time round.

There'd be no need for him to. Coyle has had great support. Can't complain about that.Lord Kangana wrote:Depends how beligerent he's feeling, how panicky Big Phil is, or indeed whats in that contract.

Indeed, its been a very reciprocal relationship. No need to spoil it later by making things up.

Well he wasn't booed before he'd had a day inside the club.Lord Kangana wrote:Indeed, its been a very reciprocal relationship. No need to spoil it later by making things up.
Coyle can't complain about the fans.
I think given the money we pay, we have every right to complain about his performance!

Indeed. So I'll reiterate that I don't think he'll react like a spoilt brat if the seemingly inevitable happens.

I'm not sure there's a more boring, repetetitive poster in the whole of internetsland than you BWFCi

Re: Coyle - Time to go? [post-Everton]
Venables was parachuted in to help Bryan Robson, not Steve McClaren, in winter 2000/01. Boro stayed up (in 14th), and both left the following summer. They were replaced by McClaren, who was there for five seasons in which Boro finished 12th, 11th, 11th (with a League Cup win), 7th and 14th (with a UEFA Cup final). He did that all by himself, and without the wedge afforded his predecessor.thebish wrote:constructive dismissal?? - worked when they appointed Venables alongside Shteve at Boro, though...boltonboris wrote:Coyle won't have that though.. Undermining him, is practically sacking him.
Robson happily accepted help, but that would be up to the manager. If BWFC started leaning on Coyle to get some help in (or basically f*ck off), it would be very interesting to see which way OC went. Loyal to the bitter end?
