Megson Watch

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

He came in, did the job he was required to do, then was fairly sacked as it was going to shit. It's not drastically different to where we are with Coyle now, although undoubtedly it was a cheerier first season and a half.

Course, we've replaced the toxic atmosphere of the Megson days with complete apathy. People turning up, convinced we're going to get beat, nothing to cheer because we're shit, nothing to boo because we like the manager. I'm not sure which is worse.

At the last game I went to someone actually thought I was clapping too loudly

Having watched Bolton a fair few times over the last 2 years, and as a Wednesday fan, having watched the Owls almost every week I can conclude the following:

Megson is a Wednesday legend - we love him. He has come in and made us a strong, fighting team that is hard to beat and great at set pieces. We play some attractive football, but mostly effective, grinding football, designed to win.
Because of the recent success and his links to the club, we all feel good about him and this has developed a good atmosphere at the club or the first time in years.
When at Bolton he was hated straight away, despite his achievements (and before you interject, I refuse to believe he didn't achieve some good things with you). But because he was not popular there was a negative vibe at the club and you all longed to see the back of him.

Coyle: A Wanderers legend - because of his status many of you overlook his inability as Manager. Last season you ended very poorly and this spilled

Next season we will play you in the Championship with Megson at the helm and Coyle, long gone.

Where is all this Coyle is a Bolton legend stuff coming from?

Cult hero perhaps as a player.

Legend? Nah....

oh for dicking sake - can't you ever give it a rest?? I think we get you point! Coyle is a massive useless nice person and you always knew it and you'd like some harm to come to him and want to replace him with just about anybody. ok?

Megson is a massive c*nt.

Coyle isn't.

Here endeth the lesson.

these kinda posts never stopped the megson outers. now we've lost 20-odd games in a row "it" should be miles worse than " coyle is not a legend" .

the only other 'dont piss off the megson outers' manager i think they can appoint is mixu.

agreeing with each other twice in a day. This must stop.

However, here is the difference between one crap manager and, I'm afraid to say, another crap one. At least the latter one is worth passing the time of day with.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

One gets sacked by txt, the other gets sacked by personal interview.

Feel the love.

Two goals in injury time saw Walsall come from behind to claim a dramatic victory against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ryan Lowe had put the Owls ahead when he headed in from Chris Lines's cross, only a minute after Walsall's Alex Nicholls had hit the Wednesday bar.

The Saddlers, who had not won in their last eight league matches, equalised in the 91st minute through Claude Gnakpa's deflected 25-yard effort.

Emmanuele Smith grabbed the winner when he shot low past Richard O'Donnell.

I winder if he'd made a late substitution ... taking of a goal threat and bringing on a defensive midfielder ??

They did sit back and try to defend it out apparently, not that I care too much now, just have an Owls mate.

He could win the Champion's League, he'd still be a c*nt.
