Again, the same answer, not if it isn't the difference for us getting someone better in. Might as well sell our whole bench for a tenner to get the cash.BWFC_Insane wrote:Again devils advocate, if Wolves want to pay money for him to sit on their bench and contribute the same he is for us, then shouldn't we let them?Prufrock wrote:Because he is clearly deemed good enough for a spot on the bench? Sure, if he was deemed no longer good enough at all, then fair enough, but there is no evidence of that.

Aye well obviously depends on an acceptable price...Prufrock wrote:Again, the same answer, not if it isn't the difference for us getting someone better in. I'd keep him, but it depends if the rumours of him being an unsettling influence are true or not.
If he's unhappy on the bench and destabilising the dressing room...

But yes, it would point that way, though it wouldn't be conclusive. My point is if Coyle sells him because he'd rather get some money than nothing, but still thinks he could have an impact from the bench if he stayed, and that the money he would get wouldn't make any difference in improving the team, then he is a fool. If by selling Davies he thinks he can improve the team (or his worth is so little that he wouldn't worsen it at all) then I can see the logic. As he is still on the bench, and has appeared from it several times, it seems he at least values Davies being around. As such it would be daft to sell him, unless any money we could get would be the difference between signing a player who would improve us, and not.

Agreed, he may not be much cop but he's ours and you wouldn't want him going to a relegation rivalofficer_dibble wrote:why would wolves want him when they have doyle?

Pfffft.
Re: Kevin Davies
or maybe coyle has the balls to drop KD from the starting lineup - but not the balls to drop his captain entirely... the fact he is on the bench does not automatically mean that coyle thinks KD can have a positive impact on the game... having KD on the bench might be an awkward compromise...Prufrock wrote:Which we haven't done.thebish wrote:Prufrock wrote:

we don't know either way - but the idea that coyle still thinks KD can make an appreciable contribution isn't the only possibility...

he's an england player and a club captain - he's worth squillions!!!

Re: Kevin Davies
With neither or us being Coyle, or course we cannot narrow it down to one possibility, but that is not to say all possibilities are equally likely. Coyle comments about valuing SKD, that he started against Macclesfield (and say, Tuncay, didn't) that he came on against Everton recently suggest he is seen to be having an appreciable contribution, and that certainly seems more likely to me than Coyle having decided over night that a player who has been a mainstay of his side is suddenly not even worthy of a place on the bench, or at the club, but he picks him anyway because he is scared.thebish wrote:or maybe coyle has the balls to drop KD from the starting lineup - but not the balls to drop his captain entirely... the fact he is on the bench does not automatically mean that coyle thinks KD can have a positive impact on the game... having KD on the bench might be an awkward compromise...Prufrock wrote:Which we haven't done.thebish wrote:Prufrock wrote:

If we were playing wolves and he was up against knight it would be an interesting battle!

Including the season he scored 11 goals then.Gail Platz wrote:You've got to be fecking joking right? He's contributed jack shit to the team all season (in my opinion he hasn't for the past four years but I won't stray off topic),

Knight wouldn't come out for the second half!

I don't think he'll go. He'd need replacing, and I think Coyle is still of the opinion that he's just going through a bad run of form, as opposed to being completely finished.

Re: Kevin Davies
Just sold him in FIFA for 5 million and brought in 3 young players, champions league here we come
Re: Kevin Davies
Take the money Owen and save his salary, he's shot to bits
Re: Kevin Davies
Don't think Emma Davo has been particularly wise on some things she's put on but noticed she admitted as much recently on there.
Just frustration but not difficult for a journo to create more of a story that Mr and Mrs Davies are restless, being treated unfairly, after a move, dressing room unrest etc. etc.

Re: Kevin Davies
I've just heard R5 reporting that the BeN has an interview with KD where he says he doesn't know if he has a future at the club - and that his form is not good enough for him to be in the team - and that the transfer window is open... etc...
is this true??
is this true??
Re: Kevin Davies
sky is carrying some quotes...
"I have no idea what my future will be," he told the Bolton Evening News.
"Obviously I am disappointed not to be playing. But my performances haven't been good enough to stay in the team.
"I keep training as hard as I can and when these opportunities come along, try and do my best.
"It's January and there is speculation about all players out of contract. I am no different.
"There has been nothing offered here as yet. I understand the position we are in and there are a few players out of contract.
"In the next few weeks and months I am sure the club will make a decision on those players."
