Makes you wonder how his present employers view these "disclosures" about his previous ones?

1) He walked out on his present employer to take our job, and it still hasn't stopped him from re-appointing him.TANGODANCER wrote:Makes you wonder how his present employers view these "disclosures" about his previous ones?
2) His present employer has bigger things to worry about right now. Just ask 'Arry....

He doesn't 'alf pick 'em does our Milan.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Are we talking about "I don't like Bolton Supporters" says Megson [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16738723.stm] or something else?
Because, personally speaking, I f**king HATE anybody who says that they don't like me, especially when the cnut has never met me.

So he was told to get out of Europe by his employer and "took us further" than any previous Bolton manager...
Couldn't even get that right the useless tw@t.

Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
We knew what we were getting when we brought him in. That was the first stage of the post-BSA transition. Ageing squad etc etc.
He did some unfathomable things, but so does Coyle. The bit at the end of the "spotlight" interview was nearer to the point about it being more than managing a team, you have to look right (and say the right things in the media). Personally, I didn't really like him at WBA and I wasn't thrilled with him being at Bolton but he kept us up and wasn't that terrible overall.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
Megson in no way tried to "get on" with Bolton fans even a few little clues about where he was looking to take us and treating us like we were a part of the "club" would have done no harm, in short he was an arrogant "I'm the boss why should I bother with you f*ckers" type.Armchair Wanderer wrote:We knew what we were getting when we brought him in. What worries me is Gartside more or less not giving a stuff about all the fans that spent a fortune following the whites abroad, he could have said we will be cocentating on the league travel if you will but don't expect too much. Who's picking the team for Saturday? Eddie Davies, Gartside or Coyle? makes you wonder if its worth going

Jesus, Gartside didn't pick the team, just outlined the priorities to the manager.
You know, aims, objectives, priorities etc...
Standard stuff.
And ultimately its all Eddie Davies' call anyways. If they say to Megson, we only care about staying up then he as their employee must do what he is asked.
And Eddie Davies has put 100M in so can do what he likes....

To be fair, he said "at home", but he's equally as wrong, the bastarding c*nt!

Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
Aw, bless him. The man's clearly had a senior moment and forgot that Gartside told him to get out of Bolton rather than Europe.
Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
Hmmmmm
I seem to recall that a lot of Bolton supporters said that they would never forgive him for what HE did in that europe game.
Now that he tells us that the chairman suggested he did said deed we simply say "oh get over it"
Ok he wasnt the best manager we have ever had, but who knows what other decisions the chairman "suggested" to him along the way.
And before anyone jumps down my throat for the above post, dont be so blinkered as to think that everything was down to him and him alone.
Kinell sounds as though I actually like the guy.
I dont, but things had gone t1ts up before Sam left, and not just when he took over.

Personally, I wonder why he brings it up at all
Say he agrees and throws the Eurocampaign - then he can't be trusted by any fans
Say he disagrees and refuses to throw the Eurocampaign - then he can't be trusted by any chairman
He really needs to wind his neck in about the whole chapter, it works in nobody's favour including his own

Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
Whatever went on is in the past, but I dont for one minute believe that Mr Gartside doesnt have a big say in what goes on day to day team wise.
That could explain why Coyle is making such obviously stupid decisions week in week out.

I'll throw my two penneth in which is equally as important as this whole farcical issue.
Why the fook BBC Manchester had him on for an interview in the first place is beyond me. Its like getting an old girlfriend in to mention why she thinks she got dumped.
So what the guy didn't like us, who cares. We didn't like him that much either. Like a 2nd rate celebrity, if you ignore it then it will disappear.
HWSNBN was introduced for a reason, this being one.

Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
I'd just like to take the opportunity to once again highlight his massive capacity for cuntishness before we consign him to the dustbin marked "who?".
Or, in his case, probably more pertinently "why?".

Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
Not sure if he was told to get out of Europe but in the end was most certainly told to get out of Bolton.
Re: Megson: 'I was told to get out of Europe'
Someone (I can't remember who) summed it up well earlier:
When Allardyce left, the club was in crisis especially with the loss of the backroom staff and subsequent pillaging of players. It was clear that Allardyce's reign was by the end completely unsustainable, with the emphasis being on the 'now' rather than the future, a trend he took to Newcastle, Blackburn and now seemingly West Ham.
Lee was the wrong choice, but that was quickly rectified thankfully.
Megson came in and steadied the ship for a couple of years even if it wasn't pretty and he spent too much money in the process. He did however buy some good young players for the medium term. on Garty/Eddie's orders, I presume - M Davies, LCY, Cahill - but by the end it was clear that the ship was sinking.
Coyle has followed this trend of youth even more wholeheartedly by getting rid of the final remnants of the Allardyce era and doing a further rebuild whilst looking more towards the long-term. This season has very much been one of transition, this is apparent by the gradual phasing out of the aging players from the Allardyce/Megson era over the past few weeks without an adverse effect on our results.

View from his current supporters - needless to say they don't like us. Funnily enough though, I remember most of that board wanted Megson out after a 5-1 defeat earlier this season and he's one of 'theirs'.
Fans are a fickle bunch, and we're not alone in that. That said, there were only a few in the 'idiot crew' at the beginning so to tar us all with the same brush is utterly unreasonable. However, had they given him less abuse at the start, this interview would likely have never happened.
I just hope the Wednesdayites are having fun losing to Bury, that's all.

We went to Red Star Belgrade (and were the) first team ever that had won (there) in over 100 years.bobo the clown wrote:In theory a fair point .... but equally, when Radio MANCHESTER asked him if he'd do an interview, what did he expect ? Whats he meant to say? He can hardly go on a program about Greater Manchester football and say he only wants to talk about Sheffield Wednesday.
He had the option to say no. He should have taken it.
He has to be the bitterest of bitter people.
I'm very much of the view that he was poorly treated when he arrived and some people, some on here, were almost eager for him to fail. Also, however he took NO steps to bridge that divide, to link to the fans and to treat us with respect.
In the end he became a cartoon version of his image and fulfilled all the worst points those who didn't want him predicted.
By the way ... he was NOT the first Bolton manager to get a win at Satan's Nest. Bolton have existed well over 100 years & we have had a win or two before he arrived.
Imagine a hundred years of draws!
I do like his, chairman told me to get knocked out of Europe....furthest in Europe Bolton have ever gone. Oh dear.
