Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
Reading back, it doesn't make much sense. What I meant was with a 4-5-1, we're more likely to have the ball because we'll have more chance of getting the thing off of the opposition. The Axman wrote:Circular logic there surely boltonboris?boltonboris wrote:4-5-1 means we should have more of the ball than in a 4-4-2. Which means we can attack more. We might not always have loads of players in the box, but as long as sparky get's up along side him, than with the ball, it'll be more like a 4-4-1-1 or even a 4-4-2
Then with the three bodies in the centre we can pop it around looking for openings, when we get the openings, Sparky can get up and support N'gog..

How about this:
Bogdan
.........
Mears
Ream
Wheater
Ricketts
.........
Ryodhino
Eagles
NRC
Petrov
.........
Klasnic
Sordell
What was wrong with 4-4-2 earlier in the season was the team playing it. maybe a light seasoning of talent will transform the side.

Petrov... er... in the middle?
Don't get this at all.
Formerly known as Meg'sEleven. And Owen'sEleven. And Dougie'sEleven. We're getting through them aren't we...
Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
I thought Muamba was injured.
A midfield with Ryodhino and Petrov on the wings, what's wrong with that in theory?

That set-up wouldn't do a job against Oldham Athletic never mind Wiggin. The Axman wrote:This IS against Wiggin FFS!
Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
Oh well, good job I'm not Owen Coyle then. (& I think Eagles is OKish)

That's harsh. For me he does good on the wing.the-Bowtun-Warrior wrote:and your answer is Chris 'I'm fooked after 20minutes on the wing' Eagles? The Axman wrote:I thought Muamba was injured.

Assuming Ream is ok to put straight in to the XI.
Has Klasnic found out whether he can be arsed yet?
I have no idea about either Sordell or Ryo.
That formation, carrying the Klas-meister doesn't fill be with joy.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.
Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
To tell you the truth Armchair, that's my problem. You can perm any set into any formation, and this squad does not fill me with joy. But I, like everybody else has an opinion about various players, and mine is I'd prefer to see Ivan than David. I'm just hoping (actually, really praying) that Ryo, Ream, and Sordell are shit hot, so the team can be built around them.

Re: BOLTON v THE PIE MEN
They might be but even so you still need a couple of players capable of winning the ball before your attackers can do anything.eagles does a reasonable job on the wing and tracks back a bit but would be less effective than M Davis in central midfield IMo.You cant really assume that just because its wigan we dont need some ball winners. They're not totally hopeless.
Ny the way. How's the dwarf basketball team project progressing?

we keep on slipping on the ice and slicing the basketball open with our axes. we're thinking of taking up dwarf tossing.

Is that more to people's tastes [with the obvious rather large assumption that'll it'll be 442]?
