I like the fact he's talking about keeping a compact shape and trying to break on them.Maybe the penny really has dropped. Just hope he's smart enough to stick with that even if we conceed one or two.

I thought I'd got to a stage where the team, for me, picked itself:

Bogdan, Steinsson, Rickettes, Knight, Wheater, Muamba, Reo-Coker, Eagles, M Davies, Petrov, Ngog

Now, in my mind, there are questions over one of the centre backs (for Ream), Petrov (Miyaichi) and even Eagles (Tuncay).

I suppose this is good news. Competition for places and all that. I reckon I'd still go with my original 11, although I'm very tempted by the idea of replacing Knight with Ream. But that's off blind faith, since I wasn't at Millwall.

I'll stick with my original 11, but with no hesitation in bringing Tuncay on in place of Eagles if he's having an off day; a guaranteed appearance for at least 30 minutes for Miyaichi, unless Petrov is playing out of his skin; and safe in the knowledge that if Knight looks suspect, Ream is in the wings (even though I know it's sometimes a mistake to upset a backline mid-game).

Fingers crossed that'll see us through to a point. Which would be an amazing achievement.

Just basing my musing on the fact he kept a clean sheet with Wheater at the Den.

I guess he could be a ready-made replacement for the poorer of the two, but at least Ream and Wheater have had some competitive playing time together. And kept a clean sheet.

Can't fault the thought process of Owen's Eleven, although I'd say Ryo could also come on for Eagles - he can play on either side, and if Cashley's suspended, Ryan Bertrand might not like having a fast fecker flying at him for the last half-hour.
