I just saw freddie Ljungberg running half naked past the Common... if you run fast you might catch him - I think he was doing a charity 5K circuit... (I was having a pastie by the pond at the time..)
Piece o pi$$.

Get within 400 yards and he'll fall over and roll around on the deck for 10 minutes.

Seeing your name as the most recent contributer on this thread Worthy, I thought you must have gone for a run! But no! Was mowing the lawn too much for you today?! ;) (if it's any consolation you are not the last. We haven't done ours yet...)

I don't think what you have can really be described as a "lawn"

Cheek! I'm sitting on our back lawn now sharing a packet of crisps and a fried egg sandwich with the dog. Might not be as big as your posh garden but it's still green grass! :P I would nag Mr GG to mow it but he's just done the duck pond so deserves a break!

maybe you should be sharing the sandwich and the crisps with Mr GG then - and not that (already slightly overweight) dog!!!

I did 15.5 yesterday HG. It started getting really warm at about 10 miles. Fortunately I was only doing 9 minute mile pace. I did it in 2 hrs 12 minutes though which I was pleased with. What was your pace / time? It'll give me an idea of how much I'm going to regret inviting you to run with me.
:D - Oh you've no worries G. Not sure on the pace, but completed it in 2hr 58 - 5 minutes slower than last year. My mate who I was running it with, is doing the three peaks race the week after I do London & he just looked so much fitter than I did. Starting to wonder whether I've done enough training.

Blimey. I one walked 18 miles over Holcombe Hills and couldn't move for a day afterwards

Talking of the heat, on yesterday's Parkrun my slip of paper with my barcode on it basically dissolved in my shorts pocket. Nice!

Well, the route we're doing is relatively flat (for Bolton). I'm anticipating doing the Marathon at about 8:45 pace which should bring me home in about 3hrs 50. I intend doing our run at a similair pace so we should be about right with what you did on Saturday (maybe a little faster).

Sounds bob on to me Gary. That's pretty much what I'm hoping for at London. I'm doing a 20 miler next weekend & then tapering, so I'll just do 14 or 15 with you. Will 17+ not be a bit too much just 2 weeks before?

It'll be my longest run. I figure I should be fresh enough not having done as much as everyone else. Plus I plan on doing a SERIOUS taper, like minimal mileage for 2 weeks.

:D Dunno what i have done to it. Is the inside of my right knee. Had problems before doing too much/incorrect technique breast stroke swimming but stopped and its been fine for years. All of a sudden today when getting up from being on the grass with the kids it suddenly really hurt again. Didn't twist ot or anything, is ok if i keep it still but bending and flexing it (ie walking!) it really hurts! Hoping its just one of those things and will be better by tomorrow.
