If you are just using it for the yellow colouring then try tumeric instead. Just as yellowinng & about 0.1% of the price.

Very true... put the right amount in and you have this lovely sweet flavouring for a fish paella... The only time I use saffron is with fish and rice... And would miss it if I didn't use... Must remember to smell the piss next time...
