Ah right. In that case, it's over. I've been one of his last defenders (ha!), but he's lost me now. In Last Post style tribute, permit me a small self-quote, and bollocks to internet protocol:

I know Redknapp talks about systems not being important, mostly to portray the image of a cheeky chappy man of the people, but while tactical theory aren't his strength he does actually subtly move things around, especially in-game. It's the reading of the game which Coyle seems to lack.

It's what makes football interesting that the game has managers like Bielsa and Coyle in the same business, both seemingly on the wrong side of the middle ground of exerting control and directing players.

and I speak of those two only as a contrast in style rather than comparison of achievement, obviously.

Could be wrong, probably am, but I think the hiring/sacking of managers has to at least be ok'ed by ED. If Eddie wanted him gone he'd be gone because he'd be paying for a replacement. Last season via Stuart Hall he was saying he couldn't afford to sack Coyle. Not sure if anything's changed yet this season.
