Mick F*cking McCarthy. I despair.
I think the post-match interviews might get even more depressing under Mick. It goes to show how costly not getting rid last Christmas really was. At that point we might still have been able to bring in a decent replacement. Instead we really are scraping the barrel here.

Which is funny seeing as I've been saying for ages how shite Coyle is. And you defended him.

Think that record speaks for itself!

I would think that's right. To me it looks like he has lost the dressing room. In such circumstances the club will realise fairly quickly that he and some of his team cannot be allowed to stay on as there will be absolutely no improvement possible while he remains.

My preferred option for a replacement would be a young reasonably successful manager from a lower division together with a wise, older guy who knows the ropes. Bruce Rioch could well be the right sort of person to bring in to act as the wise head/sounding board, perhaps given the title of Director of Football rather than assistant manager.

No more ex players though, please.
Someone said it a few pages back but Paolo Di Canio would be perfect.
If we are to sack Coyle, I'd love Di Canio in.

A fascist? No thanks.
Couldn't give a shit about his views , I'm not here to study his life i'm here to support my team and watch my team win.. Paolo Di Canio has won 40 of his 63 games at Swindon and went from havin no respect from the Swindon team to having the entire team at his feet, he took control of the locker room and took them from being relegated in 10-11 season to winning the league in 11-12 he's got a smaller budget then what we have at Swindon and he makes it work because he doesn't take excuses from anyone he demands respect and demands 100% every single game for 90 minutes.

+2

Di Canio all the way been saying it for a few months now

You don't replace a failure with another failure. This "anyone but Coyle" mentality annoys me. Yeah, he's doing poor but until we have a suitable replacement lined up, we can't sack him because there are worse managers out there. Sack Coyle, pay him a load of money, sign McCarty, stagnate, pay him a load of money when we sack him, sign Brown, stagnate, sack him and spend even more, all whilst the quality we have leave us.

No. It's pathetic and we deserve better than that. Get rid of Coyle? Fine, but we should not settle for a mug who will not improve the club. You may not think anyone can be worse than Coyle but the likes of McCarthy are no better and we shouldn't settle for that.

No prophet is well-received in his own land.

Hierro interests me though.

I don't get this 'failure' thing. Get a totally unproven manager cos nothing has ever gone wrong for em?

All managers will have good and bad parts in their careers as are sacked from clubs accordingly.

For all we know Hierro could be the next Sammy Lee as much as the next Mourinho.

I'm certainly not championing McCarthy, just knocking the ridiculous suggestion that he would be no better than Coyle. It seriously is shocking, a change is needed because we are going backwards at a rate of not. And because we left it so late, beggars cannot be choosers!

And whilst we are talking failure, Newcastle fans were up in arms about appointing that 'failure' Pardew. Wonder what they say now!

Thing is we can't even blame it on 442

It's obvious the players don't want to play for him and on top of that he's just a cvnt

We have to hire Billy Davies when Coyle goes IMO.

He had two full seasons with Preston, two play-off spot finishes. He then got a poor Derby side promoted in his first season, though it didn't work out in the PL. Then at Forest in his first two full seasons he took them to consecutive third places. None of these teams were that great, yet he got the best out of them.
