You can't fault him for re-signing these players because even if they aren't good enough, they aren't worth anything on the market and to get a suitable replacement would cost millions. To sign someone who is better, right now, than Davies or Knight would set us back quite a bit which, unfortunately, we can't afford to do. Offering a new contract is the only solution to keeping a good squad. If we had got rid of those players and signed replacements we actually could afford, they wouldn't be as good as the players Coyle signed to a longer deal.

Coyle himself has said this is the squad he wants and the one we would have had if we had stayed in the premiership (with the additional expensive 'very good young players' he'd have added).

If he didn't want any, he simply didn't need to offer them a contract in the same way as he released Klasnic, Steinsson et al....

Quite simply even Coyle isn't hiding behind the squad, he's assembled it and he's man enough to admit its exactly what he wants and more than good enough to go up.

Come on the goals are comedy gold.Where's your sense of humour. My favourite is the 2nd. Watch closely and you can see Faye take a deep breath before blowing two defenders over who manage to take out Bogdan aswell leaving Faye with a free header. Incredible athlete Faye. Amazing lung capacity
