This. He's not once had a pop at the fans, quite the opposite in fact, yet there's all this name calling going on.TKIZ! wrote:Owen is a nice fella, got a lot of time for him personally, just his managerial credentials are under huge scrutiny for me. Unlike that ginger tosser previously, name calling is perfectly acceptable for him as he was a frigging wanker that couldn't wait to get a dig in on us at whatever press conference he was invited to.

100% agree Bish.thebish wrote:frankly - and maybe I am behind the way the modern world works - but it is just unprofessional for him to tweet or retweet this kind of stuff... he is (in some sense) an employer publically tweeting about an employee - just doesn't seem professional to me
just like it isn't professional for players to write whiny tweets about not getting picked etc...
His actual 'tweet' about it 'not being good enough so far' could be read in many ways. Either way it's surely not something to tweet at all. It worse to retweet something about the 'length' of time someone thinks you should give an employee. Even if they term suggested was generous it implies you are at least thinking or suggesting...
It is unprofessional IMO.

We have one of the best if not the best squad in the division. He had no choice but to release the likes of Elmander, Al Habsi, Taylor, Cahill, Sturridge, Wilshere, etc.benn wrote:He has bought mediocre players and let better ones go.
Most of those teams were/are in the lower leagues. If we spent the same amount as them despite the fact that we were in the Premier League, i'd say that deserves praise rather than criticism. As for his starting point being 'infinately better', he's been given the task of reducing the wage bill, offloading the high earners and bringing in players for the money we raise through sales. I'm not sure how that makes his job any easier.benn wrote:During his tenure his resource and spend has not been much different to those of Norwich, Wigan, Swansea, Blackpool, Reading and Soton, in fact one could say his starting point was infinately better than the managers of those clubs.
All right Owen. If we have one of the best squads in the division, but getting outplayed and outfought by Hull (to go with Burnley) isn't his fault whose is it?

Re: owen out 2012/2013
Bolton News today, interview with Gartside. Main points thusly....
* Not good enough so far.
* He is looking for a reaction.
* Target is 2 points a game (so to be on target we should have
.
* Squad is good enough and underperforming.
* Feels sorry for fans.
Pretty stark stuff from Gartside. I think the 2 point a game target is revealing. The BN without saying so are also hinting that Coyle has 3 games (which happen to be in a week), Watford at home, Brum away and Sheff Wed away.
They also ask the question whether there is any way back for Coyle now. I think the next three games are the most important he will ever have faced as a manager.

Coyle'll never get two points per game as long as he's got a hole in his arse. I reckon a maximum of three points from the next three games. More likely just the one point.

Re: owen out 2012/2013
People have been making the valid points for the best part of a year and a half. During which time, we've listened to every bit of drivel known to man, as to why it's not St Owen's problem. Nowadays where it's becoming more apparent that some folk will cling to any straw possible as mitigation for his ineptitude, it's much easier just to point out he's a bit shit, which is being more than adequately demonstrated on the pitch. (Although a fairly cursory glance would have shown you this, last season, and if you'd really been paying attention, the end of the season before.SmokinFrazier wrote:It's remarkable how people take a valid point that a manager is under performing and then seek to attack him in any way possible. What's really classless is the inability of people to spot what's directly in front of them.
The thought that I might now be classless is worrying me a bit. Honest. I'm not sure how I'll be able to hold my head up in the street.

Re: owen out 2012/2013
Two away games at big grounds, we'll crumble and get torn a new one at both places, Watford are due a good result also. Really can't see any more than 2 points from those games. With the squad we have, to have this outlook is apalling but this guy has no clue how to counteract teams' tactics. They know about us and where to attack us, and how to defend us (ho ho) yet we have no idea how to change things around to suit how they might set up against us.
Depressing.

And here is the Gartside interview, and Coyle's as well.
1 clean sheet in the last 47 away games. Deary deary me. And we have a manager saying "we must start keeping clean sheets". Aye, you've had 47 games to fix that, and haven't managed it yet.

Looks like it was that QPR 4-0, before that I found a 0-0 at Wigan in February 2010.

Its unbelievable that he is still here and seemingly has done nothing (ie get some proper coaching staff in) about this.ohjimmyjimmy wrote:Is that right???

I wonder how many goals we have shipped from set peices in this time? Thats always seemed the glaring one to me to resolve.
Watch some dvds of tge opposition beforehand.
Work out how to stop their set peice routines ending up in the back of our net.
Practice it in training and practice it some nore.
I'm going to be interested in the home truths re training when he finally goes.

I doubt if either of these positions indicates possession or absence of "class"... and I doubt that calling each other classless will help...

Here it says that Gartside and Coyle were both confronted by Bolton fans on their way out of the KC stadium.

I was hanging about before the game and saw some genius shout to Gartside from about 30 yards away, "WHERE'S THE MONEY GONE PHIL?"BWFC_Insane wrote:http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... ant-tigers

I think fans approaching him goes with the territory. During the Megson era I saw him accosted a petrol station once by a group of lads.

Haha, Knickers twisted much? Just because this happens to be from a Muamba conference doesn't make it off limits, it was the first picture that came up, There's no motive because it was related to Muamba. There's plenty of pictures of him looking like an ass. He's a fecking manager, Not a player or a trainee, He should present himself like one in all situations regardless. He happens to look very good in a suit and it's cringeworthy to see him on the sidelines in his damn shorts and socks pulled up to his knees.pagey_BWFC wrote:He looks like a tosser cause he is not wearing a suit? Jesus christ. Hope your sitting behind your computer in a nice new Armani otherwise shut up. You can have your opinion on his managerial ability but to judge him on what he wears? FFS we are no better then Blackburn supporters if we go down that route.IggyTheDawgster wrote:You can do what you like mate. As can I. He looks like a tosser, He should wear a suit. That's the point. Now what was yours again?wanderers_on_tour wrote:hardly an appropriate image to back up your non existent point, whatever Owen & even Gartys flaws in terms of football matters the way they conducted themselves as representaves of the club during the Muamba incident (therefore the time of that photo) was flawless. No arguments. Can't we just get you out of here instead?IggyTheDawgster wrote:and i'm a cock
Nice Suit.
To espescially question his attire during the Muamba situation is utterly stupid. I want Coyle out as much as the next guy but the way he and Gartside represented the club during that time was nothing short of fantastic..... But no. He wore a Bolton track suit. How dare he.
