Owen is a nice fella, got a lot of time for him personally, just his managerial credentials are under huge scrutiny for me. If I met Owen I'd be nice to him but ask what's happened, I don't get why there is all this name calling though

This. He's not once had a pop at the fans, quite the opposite in fact, yet there's all this name calling going on.

Unlike that ginger tosser previously, name calling is perfectly acceptable for him as he was a frigging wanker that couldn't wait to get a dig in on us at whatever press conference he was invited to.

frankly - and maybe I am behind the way the modern world works - but it is just unprofessional for him to tweet or retweet this kind of stuff... he is (in some sense) an employer publically tweeting about an employee - just doesn't seem professional to me

just like it isn't professional for players to write whiny tweets about not getting picked etc...

His actual 'tweet' about it 'not being good enough so far' could be read in many ways. Either way it's surely not something to tweet at all. It worse to retweet something about the 'length' of time someone thinks you should give an employee. Even if they term suggested was generous it implies you are at least thinking or suggesting...

Owen Coyle is totally responsible for the position that this football club finds itself in.

No he isn't.

He has bought mediocre players and let better ones go.

We have one of the best if not the best squad in the division. He had no choice but to release the likes of Elmander, Al Habsi, Taylor, Cahill, Sturridge, Wilshere, etc.

During his tenure his resource and spend has not been much different to those of Norwich, Wigan, Swansea, Blackpool, Reading and Soton, in fact one could say his starting point was infinately better than the managers of those clubs.

Most of those teams were/are in the lower leagues. If we spent the same amount as them despite the fact that we were in the Premier League, i'd say that deserves praise rather than criticism. As for his starting point being 'infinately better', he's been given the task of reducing the wage bill, offloading the high earners and bringing in players for the money we raise through sales. I'm not sure how that makes his job any easier.

All right Owen. If we have one of the best squads in the division, but getting outplayed and outfought by Hull (to go with Burnley) isn't his fault whose is it?

Pretty stark stuff from Gartside. I think the 2 point a game target is revealing. The BN without saying so are also hinting that Coyle has 3 games (which happen to be in a week), Watford at home, Brum away and Sheff Wed away.

They also ask the question whether there is any way back for Coyle now. I think the next three games are the most important he will ever have faced as a manager.

People have been making the valid points for the best part of a year and a half. During which time, we've listened to every bit of drivel known to man, as to why it's not St Owen's problem. Nowadays where it's becoming more apparent that some folk will cling to any straw possible as mitigation for his ineptitude, it's much easier just to point out he's a bit shit, which is being more than adequately demonstrated on the pitch. (Although a fairly cursory glance would have shown you this, last season, and if you'd really been paying attention, the end of the season before.

What's really classless is the inability of people to spot what's directly in front of them.

The thought that I might now be classless is worrying me a bit. Honest. I'm not sure how I'll be able to hold my head up in the street.

Two away games at big grounds, we'll crumble and get torn a new one at both places, Watford are due a good result also. Really can't see any more than 2 points from those games. With the squad we have, to have this outlook is apalling but this guy has no clue how to counteract teams' tactics. They know about us and where to attack us, and how to defend us (ho ho) yet we have no idea how to change things around to suit how they might set up against us.

Its unbelievable that he is still here and seemingly has done nothing (ie get some proper coaching staff in) about this.

I wonder how many goals we have shipped from set peices in this time? Thats always seemed the glaring one to me to resolve.

Watch some dvds of tge opposition beforehand.
Work out how to stop their set peice routines ending up in the back of our net.
Practice it in training and practice it some nore.

I'm going to be interested in the home truths re training when he finally goes.
