There were way too many fluff segments with the players families. Other than that it is an insight you normally don't get. I'll probably watch the next episode.

They keep chucking out this statistic that it's the most widely played sport over there now. If that is the case, then it will catch on. There is a reason it's massive the world over, and that's because it is a brilliant game; there's also a reason their sports haven't caught on across the world, and that's because they're shit!

.... & their home grown sports are funded, massively, by TV money which would make Sky wince.

It's widely played by boys, right up to the age of about 14 when it becomes largely a girly game.

When they say it's the most played sport they mean at school level & count GG style footy. Not as we know it.

Previous attempts to crack America have focussed on big names and drawing the crowds rather than getting people playing it. I can't see how all these kids are going to give up the best game on the planet to go and play girly rounders, girly rugby, Hockey on Ice or that one where you have to be at least 6'6" to play. Plenty still will, no doubt, tempted by the money and the college scholarships, but football will get there I think.
