A lot of the people went but the ethos remained under Lee and Megson to an extent. Certainly much greater than under Coyle.Lord Kangana wrote:All that stuff went with Allardyce.
Under Megson a lot of the stuff like the "ice room" became voluntary rather than complusory IIRC.

And under Coyle it was banned? You don't half fantasise about that ginger nice person sometimes.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I'm not one who necessarily agrees with 'double sessions' all the time but the international break is probably the time to do them if any!
The rest, well... what can you say. A little odd though that we still employed the same number of backroom fitness staff, Brian Prestidge etc as before, but now we're supposedly actually using them!?

Megson was on R5 not long ago saying that all of Allardyces backroom science stuff and legion of experts and consultants was a huge bag of bollox...

Yes but he's always on Twitter talking about about how performance analysis is only effective when communicated/used in the right way....BWFC_Insane wrote:He does prozone stats, I think.Athers wrote:I'm not one who necessarily agrees with 'double sessions' all the time but the international break is probably the time to do them if any!

Yeah, but voluntary is basically the same as compulsory when you want to get a point across.

Aye and a fat lot of ignoring the "bollox" did for him
When Winter Hill and backpacks of bricks is on the agenda, then we are about to be a rising star again.

We didn't have as much of the backroom science stuff going on because we'd lost some of the people who Allardyce took but we still had a fair bit, especially the recovery and performance stuff.
I know because I asked the club at the time.

At least they'd last for a full 90 when fit and full of stamina. Used to be the case wre we picked up points by being fit enough to batter the oppo's in the last 20 or soLord Kangana wrote:Bricks! Backpacks!! Winter Hill!!!

So what you're slowly conceding is that "All that stuff went with Allardyce" then?
We can drag this out a bit longer if you want.

Re: Owen Coyle. Where did it all go wrong?
I think most of it did, Megson was a fookin' caveman with his outlook on the game and we all are learning about the great pretenders view of how the game should be played!Lord Kangana wrote:So what you're slowly conceding is that "All that stuff went with Allardyce" then?

No, cos I bothered to find out some facts at the time.Lord Kangana wrote:So what you're slowly conceding is that "All that stuff went with Allardyce" then?

I suspect they don't fit your version that you'd like to paint.
Anyhow, how many years has it taken you to realise that Coyle was stealing a living and dragging us down with it?

Feel free to share these facts then, it'd make for a better discussion.
