What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Stupid stuff like bank and moving house rubbish, then christmas shopping, miss lunch, in town still at 6.45, and ravenous.

So, twas cod special at the Olympus.

This was droolingly good.

My southern based rellies always want to eat at the olympus whenever they are up north. My London-based daughter 's partner has had his palate profoundly changed by the experience of the Olympus scallop barm...

:D

Here's a reindeer on a treadmill. Keeping nice and lean so that there's no fat on ohjimmyjimmy's sandwiches.

Do you remember the owners parents starting out as a Greek restaurant, Chez Aristotle , on Churchgate, just below the Man and Scythe, Will?

I remember Aristotle's Grill, an old school friend was a chef there, but I seem to remember it being on Deansgate, around what is now Toni & Guy

Don't remember the details exactly, but the father died when it was Chez Aristotle, and the mother took over and yes, I think it moved and was Aristotle's Grill? . It definitely started in Churchgate though as I went there. From there (again I'm not certain) but I think it changed name again to the Olympus Grill and finally went opposite the old Wheatsheaf (where it is now) as a fish and chip restaurant. I'll stand correction mind, as I'm relying on memory.

Ah, that place that stinks of old fat as you walk past it. Was down that way yesterday. I see that yet another piece of my youth has been scrubbed from the planet. I've no idea how many hours I spent in the basement of Edwin P Lee's, trawling through the vinyl. Now one of those exorbitant loans places. :(

Aye, most of my youth went long ago. Where now the Grand Theatre, Capitol Cinema, Booths music shop, Sabinis coffee bar etc (all on Churchgate) ? Whole world of entertainment in 100 yds, Brass Cat, Lower Nags, Swan, Crown and Cushion, Empress, Beachcomber and a finishing curry in the Kismet on Bank Street.....all long gone.. :(

I'm going to put some of that glitter in the cats food bowl. It gives the garden a festive look.

Indeed. I'll tell you another one. You know that cheese that comes in a toothpaste tube? Well, squeeze a line of that out down the middle of it.

It a perfect accompaniment to blue cheese too.

your gourmande status has taken a knock there, Bruce!
In further knockage to my gourmande status, I've recently become hopelessly addicted to these. I don't even know if they involve cheese or not, but they do go well with a glass of Cab Sauv.

Yesterday had an extended lunch at Australasia in Manchester.

Tremendous food and flange.
