What is it Davies getting no where near the ace crosses or Petrov not looking up before crossing the ball and therefore being wasteful?

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
It was Coyle's fault. He told them to be shit on purpose, my mate says so.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
We bring in someone who can put the ball in the back of the net (Craig Davies) and look to ship out someone who can put the ball into a position where he can score? Not exactly seeing the logic in that.
Petrov's an enigma, can turn a game on its head or just be a luxury we can't afford to carry. He's not really improved the squad since Matty Taylor left.
Can we afford to let him go? Definitely. Can we afford not to replace him? Not a chance. We need a left winger who can provide quality and consistency, we've not had that for a while.

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
I think the big question is who we can replace him with.
We replaced Klasnic with Afobe, for example.
He has undoubted quality that can be the difference in a game in this division; this is the kind of player that clubs like Millwall, Watford etcetera do not have. It's the kind of player that elevates us above these teams. Players like Afobe don't do this. The more quality we lose, and the more inferiority we replace it with, the less chance we'll have of retaining our PL status, either this year or next. Petrov is the kind of player who can come off the bench and galvanize the team.
Hopefully Freedman will buy shrewdly.

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
How effective has he been at that this year though? On his game he looks a threat rampaging down the wing but I cant recall him putting any great crosses in or laying on an assist this season.Mar wrote:We bring in someone who can put the ball in the back of the net (Craig Davies) and look to ship out someone who can put the ball into a position where he can score? He's done next to fvck all since he's been here the odd glimpse is not enough in 3 years plus he was probably one of the highest paid players we have
For us Matty Taylor is/was a far better player than Petrov
Good riddance
Never get into an argument with an idiot. i'll bring you down to my level and beat you with experience

Its in fact players like Pratley, Mears, Afobe, Ngog and Sordell who have done next to feck all.plymouth wanderer wrote:Jugs wrote:I think the big question is who we can replace him with.

Petrov has a game-changing quality which he has used and would use - however sparingly - until the end of the season. That sporadic quality could be the difference between a few draws and a few wins. That kind of quality could win playoff finals.

Not the kind of player that gets us relegated from the Premiership and leaves us languishing in the bottom half of the Championship then?

On what planet are we 'elevated' above this teams
They have teams better than us
We have (supposedly) talented individuals who have massively under-performed
Petrov epitomises this more than any other in our squad

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
Who are you now Bish, the grand forum inquisitor? You're as predictable as the weather. Why would I have someone else's view? My own view is simple and unchanged. It's also not a very recent one as Tower Radio isn't the best view to base opinions on, so hardly that relevant anyway. I am, I understand, allowed to express it on a forum though...I think..? The topic was also regarding Petrov if I recall until BWFCi changed the goalposts. Where exactly in the thread did I claim anything of the sort? Unless a lot's changed KD has three defenders around him wherever he goes so at least he keeps them busy. How many free kicks are given against him just for going for the ball? He also isn't a one man army and there are other who could get in the box for crosses. You claim K.D is gash yet how many times have you watched a match recently/this season? Commentators and the media seem to rate him far better than our own fans, but if he's gash, as you claim, then what do they know? Maybe your radio is better quality than mine?thebish wrote:cos he's gash?TANGODANCER wrote:Give it a rest Bish. You tell everybody instead. That's kinda what I was trying to say CAPSLOCK.

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
Charlton should have beaten us before Ngog came on and won the game - the kind of player that elevates us above those teams.CAPSLOCK wrote:What the bollocks are you wafflingJugs wrote:I think the big question is who we can replace him with.

If Petrov is used sparingly as a sub for the rest of the year we might get a few points out of him. Otherwise we can keep bringing Afobe and his ilk on.
I'd rather see shite like Afobe out of the club, who literally has done nothing since arriving, than someone like Petrov who, admittedly sparingly, can produce something that can win games.
Re: Petrov to Espanyol
Tell ya what, let's get shut of Petrov and Afcukingfobe
Ticks an extra box
Just stop with the 'having Petrov is what makes us better' than teams half a league above us
This league demands effort and organisation
Not something at the top of Petrovs CV
And, he's expensive

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
I'm in agreement with what the league demands - but sometimes a game needs that extra spark and quality to win a 0-0. We don't have to start him but I'd rather keep him till the end of the year, even if he is on a fair bit of money.

Re: Petrov to Espanyol
Its simple really. If we don't get significantly worse, or even manage to improve after this then its a decent decision. If we don't, then we'll have an answer.
