Just got my tickets for 80s Rewind gig in Dubai
It should be suitably cheesy and a bit of nostalgia from my youth...

Re: Today I'm happy about......
got chatting to a lady biker this morning after church... she's a summer biker - uses the car in winter...
anyway - she was telling me that she uses the winter months to give it a proper all-over clean and stuff...
I showed her my rust-pitted shoddy chrome and bemoaned the expensive chemicals that are advertised to deal with the job - often involving removing chrome parts and soaking for 36hours in huge vats of the chemicals...
(partly why I have never done it - the other part being sheer laziness and a not well-developed sense of bike-proudishness!)
anyway - she suggested scrunching up some tin-foil, dipping it in coke/pepsi and scrubbing it with that...
so - I did - just now - and I have to say - fecking miraculous!!! gleaming chrome and rust-free brackets!!
(of course - lying upside down under the bike scrubbing the chrome with tin foil did give me further insight into some of the other bits I don't often see that need a bit of a scrub and some attention!! the whole exhaust system - for instance - needs rust-removal and blacking-up again... I only did it two years ago....

Amazing! Still, if it works, it will soon be over here since we have many apartment dwellers.thebish wrote:combined unit - it does both - saves space - but if one's buggered they both are!!Montreal Wanderer wrote:Congratulations!
