Sort of, dependant on a lot of factors.Bruce Rioja wrote:2 % annual pay award. Is that about the norm just now?
Meanwhile some Scousers I know well are threatening strike action against an offer of 6.25% .... demanding an additional 5% as well as some odds & sods. Though to be fair they have come down from their original demands of 29% !!
I have explained my view of Scousers elsewhere I believe.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

As Glenda said - too many Thatcherites know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. I'm obviously worth it.Montreal Wanderer wrote:8% in two years??? Getting the drinks in at work resulted in a trip to A & E after scalding myself with a cup of boiling water. Clearly not cut out to be a waitress!

Were you following the one cup on a tray rules advocated by Crazy Hoss's ex-employers though?89bwfc89 wrote:Getting the drinks in at work resulted in a trip to A & E after scalding myself with a cup of boiling water. Clearly not cut out to be a waitress!
If so then sue them, but watch out for Sralansugar (he's on the case).

Ended up having to go to hospital from work once to have a chunk of my (now slightly deformed) right thumb sewn back on. Decided to chance my hand, quite literally, at multi-tasking: Holding a conversation whilst at the same time opening a tin of corned beef. Disastrous consequences.89bwfc89 wrote:Getting the drinks in at work resulted in a trip to A & E after scalding myself with a cup of boiling water. Clearly not cut out to be a waitress!

Hope you're ok and not all blistered up.
May the bridges I burn light your way

I was on cup three and putting them in a box lid! H & S will have a fit! And I was under pressure from people who had gathered around the drinks machine with their eyes boring into me, rather than forming an orderly queue, it clearly all got too much for me! Thank you, don't think it's blistered, bandages off later to check!

Some of them boxes that contain reams of paper actually tell you to use the lid as a drinks tray! Motif were the brand. I'd sue if I were you.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Thank gawd it wasn't a tea-rage incident! But what were you thinking 89? a box lid89bwfc89 wrote:I was on cup three and putting them in a box lid! Paper is inherently dangerous. I was alerted to this fact after I'd read the novel Fahrenheit 451.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Precisely. It is the main reason why as sustainability champion (I shit you not) I have promoted a paperless office environment. [That and because, as a member of a large multinational civils business that does its best to cover the planet in concrete, I can't think of anything else that is in the least bit sustainable]

I used to buy millions of sheets of the stuff every year. I was not popular with the warehouse when I used to have lots of it delivered at onceLost Leopard Spot wrote: Paper is inherently dangerous. I was alerted to this fact after I'd read the novel Fahrenheit 451.
