Some 20 years ago, a guy that I worked with, who's about 10 years younger than me, was going out with her. She was 16 at the time as I recall. My colleague was ultra proud when she appeared on this play on Granada with Stratford Johns. I can't for the life of me remember what the play was called though.Gooner Girl wrote:You're not the only one...Harry Genshaw wrote:Fear not Monty. If Wikipedia is right some 20 years ago she was about 12!Bruce Rioja wrote:Some 20 years ago, a guy that I worked with, who's about 10 years younger than me, was going out with her. Johns died in 2001 having been ill for years so this is surprising. Smith's first TV appearance was in 1999 in a show called Dark Ages (Johns was not in that) and the Royle Family also in 1999 (she was 18 then). So there was not a wide window of opportunity. It must have been about Johns' last appearance.Bruce Rioja wrote:Some 20 years ago, a guy that I worked with, who's about 10 years younger than me, was going out with her. Seem to recall she'd just turned 16 at the time, so whatever fits that.Gooner Girl wrote:If Wikipedia is right some 20 years ago she was about 12!Bruce Rioja wrote:Some 20 years ago, a guy that I worked with, who's about 10 years younger than me, was going out with her. I mainly know her from the West End - Legally Blonde, Flare Path and, most recently, Hedda Gabler.

Monty. Never rely on Wikipedia. I thought you were smarter than that.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Johns died in 2001 having been ill for years so this is surprising. Anybody remember milk lollies? Vimto and milk mixed and frozen? Might be a bit too far back, but they were good.
