I think we will be flexible with systems. We haven't really had a striking partnership for a while that has really been good enough to compensate for less in midfield. Who knows if NGog and Beckford will work? If it does could be quite a handful.

Overall I still feel we are weaker than we were in the run in.

QPR signing Hooper and Austin apparently. They will have some team on paper for this league.

Reading will be strong.

Wigan haven't lost many and have some good players if they hang onto them. Shame about the manager though.

But those three squads on paper are ahead of ours I'd say.

After that I reckon Leeds, Forest and Boro will be tough.

Still feel we need to sort out centre half which is my main worry and find another pacy winger or two.

Sounds that way, which is disappointing. I'd rather have Spearing and Dawson than Rhodes. We won't sign Rhodes anyhow.

I reckon Eddie Davies is looking at this and saying 'we can't keep spending money without getting it back'. Which is fair enough apart from the fact that we need to go back up to have any chance of getting close to balancing the books to stop running at a loss.

The trouble is that the teams who have come down seem to be spending and at least not losing too many.
