The worst must have been the ones left at the end who the 2 captains argue over who NOT to have and, eventually one is made to take both of them.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:That was me that was. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Have we been trying to get rid of him all summer though?

Ah, so the TOP signing that Nixon was on about is finally revealed;
BWFC can confirm the signing of free agent Gary Fraser.
The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a two-year contract following his release from Hamilton.
Well, I suppose it is a top signing if your side's Partick bloody Thistle!

That'll be 4-4-2 you'll be recommending to Dougie then? There'll be some competition (when all are fit) for those midfield places... Which would you pick?BWFC_Insane wrote:I'm not sure about the coward thing, think that's a bit ott.Prufrock wrote:N'Gog has a good touch, is quick, makes it stick...sometimes. Does anyone see N'Gog with a winners medal around his neck? No?
Ngog with a goalscorer like Beckford? Could be tasty IMO.
Chungy, eagles, mavis, holden, medo, pratley, andrews, vela, hall plus newboys I have no doubt forgotten!

I think we will be flexible with systems. We haven't really had a striking partnership for a while that has really been good enough to compensate for less in midfield. Who knows if NGog and Beckford will work? If it does could be quite a handful.thebish wrote:That'll be 4-4-2 you'll be recommending to Dougie then? As for midfield choice, god knows at this stage!

Depends on how Holden comes back. Whether we sign anyone else etc.thebish wrote:Hence why I'm asking you!BWFC_Insane wrote:I think we will be flexible with systems. Probably something like Eagles, Medo. Holden, Pratley.
If all fit.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
There are a few strong-looking midfield fours we could put out when all fit... Compared with other teams we won't be able to complain about strength in depth...

Moritz rejected the deal apparently. Flying back to Brazil tomorrow.

Mark Davies is still a miss.thebish wrote:There are a few strong-looking midfield fours we could put out when all fit... Compared with other teams we won't be able to complain about strength in depth...
Overall I still feel we are weaker than we were in the run in.
QPR signing Hooper and Austin apparently. They will have some team on paper for this league.
Reading will be strong.
Wigan haven't lost many and have some good players if they hang onto them. Shame about the manager though.
But those three squads on paper are ahead of ours I'd say.
After that I reckon Leeds, Forest and Boro will be tough.
Still feel we need to sort out centre half which is my main worry and find another pacy winger or two.

So does that mean there's still a big signing to come then? I'm lost now, I'm sure that's what we're waiting for.

There's only money available for a Rhodes type singing. That's it. No new money for Spearing, no money for Dawson. None.

Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Sounds that way, which is disappointing. I'd rather have Spearing and Dawson than Rhodes. We won't sign Rhodes anyhow.boltonboris wrote:There's only money available for a Rhodes type singing. That's it. No new money for Spearing, no money for Dawson. None.
I reckon Eddie Davies is looking at this and saying 'we can't keep spending money without getting it back'. Which is fair enough apart from the fact that we need to go back up to have any chance of getting close to balancing the books to stop running at a loss.
The trouble is that the teams who have come down seem to be spending and at least not losing too many.
Re: The "Nothing to see here"Transfer thread
Split the 'big money' for Rhodes and bring in Dawson and Spearing and then try and get a loanee striker desperate to prove he's not past it/had it etc
Pfffft.

Clearly Eddie is not up for that. So it's not happening.TKIZ! wrote:Split the 'big money' for Rhodes and bring in Dawson and Spearing and then try and get a loanee striker desperate to prove he's not past it/had it etc

That's not what the money is there for mate. It's like sending your mate out with money for a Ferrari and coming him back with 2 BMW's.TKIZ! wrote:Split the 'big money' for Rhodes and bring in Dawson and Spearing and then try and get a loanee striker desperate to prove he's not past it/had it etc
Sort of. Shit analogy, I know.
