Okay - I've looked it up elsewhere. This is quite interesting. It looks like the doctors were entrapped by journalists into agreeing to do gender based abortions. These appear to be against UK law. However, no actual abortion took place, so I'd like our lawyers views on the matter.

I'm with you LLS though, as Monty says, an actual crime was not committed. It'll be interesting to see what the GMC has to say on the matter.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Really, really, really pissed off about the CPS decision 'not in the public interest' not to prosecute the two doctors for ageeing to terminate female foetuses. Agreeing to break the law ... especially given the ethical requirements of doctors ... is conspiracy & therefore IS a crime being committed.Salford Trotter wrote:I'm with you LLS though, as Monty says, an actual crime was not committed. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I understand your point Bobo but if it was a clear as you make out it is then why have the CPS not prosecuted? Maybe 'not in the public interest' considers the cost to the public purse versus the likely prospect of a conviction. If it was my decision then i'd prosecute in a flashbobo the clown wrote:Agreeing to break the law ... especially given the ethical requirements of doctors ... is conspiracy & therefore IS a crime being committed.Salford Trotter wrote:I'm with you LLS though, as Monty says, an actual crime was not committed. Were I defending them I might muddy the waters. If someone approaches you to break the law, you might agree for a number of non-criminal reasons. "She was desperate and I feared she might harm herself it I refused, Milord. Of course I was playing for time and would never have done it." "These journalists are all crooked, Milord - they use entrapment, falsify photos, make unproven allegations about brown envelopes - I was frightened". "I did nothing, Milord, and never intended to do anything." "Should we all be found guilty if we consider a crime the jails would be full" "It is a well-established principle of law that without a crime there can be no punishment - sine crimen, sine poena."bobo the clown wrote:Agreeing to break the law ... especially given the ethical requirements of doctors ... is conspiracy & therefore IS a crime being committed.Salford Trotter wrote:I'm with you LLS though, as Monty says, an actual crime was not committed. Did the journalists break the law in obtaining the evidence (they usually do)? If so, such evidence might be inadmissible.Salford Trotter wrote:I understand your point Bobo but if it was a clear as you make out it is then why have the CPS not prosecuted? They will have misrepresented themselves, but that doesn't mean the information gained, if illegality was found, is any less illegal.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Did the journalists break the law in obtaining the evidence (they usually do)? I personally think the CPS have bottled it.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Folk who take the moral high ground because they are in the office earlier than you? Im usually in for 6:30 / 6:45 anyway but if i roll in at 7:00 / 7:15, some witless arse always has to say ‘afternoon’ wtf? By the same token, those nobs who glance at their watch disapprovingly when i piss off at 11am on a Friday – ive done three hours every other morning before youre even out of bed you dick!
Also, is it me, or is it rude for someone to ask you how much things cost? I hate being put in that position and struggle to find a retort other than the truth. Went in the pub at weekend saw a mate of the mrs, she asked what id bought for her birthday, i told her – she goes, “bloody hell – how much did that set you back!?” felt like glassing the bitch.
Good Morning

You sound like a petson with a rattled cage General ... exactly what this thread is for. The first ... absolutely. I suppose the response when you arrive slightly later than usual it's merely a feeble attempt at humour but the ones giving you the evil eye as you finush ... i assume by arrangement ... dickish and they deserve napalming.
The second sounds (though maybe you have to be thete) more reasonable curiosity than any evil and glassing her could be taken to be a slight overreaction.

it was a high end gift tho (a diamond ring) shes had a reasonbly cheap diamond ring for years and i thought it was time we upgraded her to the real deal - the woman in the pub just wanted to know if it had cost more than hers - inverted snobbery i think?

... or some serious pressure on her other half to match up. Keep an eye on her ring for a few weeks (so to speak).

Good Morning

Totaly agree on both points General, but people asking 'how much was that etc', realy pees me off. I usualy reply 'more than enough'. If they persevere (especialy over a gift) I say It's a personal matter, so I'd rather not say. If they ask again, then I glass em!

People who steam into lifts as the doors are opening, causing awkward moments and death glare from Athers as he tries to exit on that floor
Happens a few times a day
That's nothing like as mad as I get at train platforms though
