Fully agree, why would anyone want to take over our shambles of a squad. Better to let Freedman build his new team based on youth even if we have to go down again like Southampton did before returning to the top.

It's so rare for a team to be able to put out a decent squad of players promoted from the academy. The reality is that we get one half decent one every few years while the rest are league 2 fodder. An emphasis on young players will lead us down the divisions with no saleable assets.

So it would make no sense to switch for even less experience. If you are going to switch that is.

Bearing in mind we probably couldn't afford to nick another manager. Of the experienced managers currently out of work, who are realistic options, of the top of my head I can think of;

Pulis, Warnock, Reid, Souness, Jones, Cotterill, Laws, Horton & Megson
