Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Ok, we're playing like someone just gave us a pair of boots for christmas and bottom of the league, what does Manager Bobo say?bobo the clown wrote:I expect him NOT to say :Armchair Wanderer wrote:If we were bangin' 'em in for fun he wouldn't say he plans to be 3 up by half-time. We're on some kind of fragile recovery what's he supposed to say? If he says we expect to beat this bunch o' part-timers that's over-confidence. If we've been working on ways to beat Bournemouth in training I'd hope he wouldn't spill the beans in a pre-match press conference. So either you got "fantastic manager, pull socks up, smiles on our faces" or you got something from someone who appears to be relatively intelligent with a sense of humour who wants to win but is being cautious with language and gives the press something without giving away any secrets. Would you rather he said player x will start and I'll be telling player y to feed him in position a so that we can score from area m? Do you want him to say, despite being 10 places (or whatever it is) above us Bournemouth should be easy for a team like BWFC?
What happens on the pitch speaks for itself but Dougie-bashing over interviews/press conferences sounds bizarre to me.
"There's a little bit more determination about us now".
nor
"We’re going there to make sure we keep the game at least close ... ".
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

^ Bobo doesn't say anything - he prefers the medium of mime....
Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Saying: "We’re going there to make sure we keep the game at least close ... " is crazy though, right? I'd hope the words 'at least' weren't from Dougie's mouth.

Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
It was a direct quote from the Bolton (Evening) News.HMX wrote:Saying: "We’re going there to make sure we keep the game at least close ... " is crazy though, right? I'd hope the words 'at least' weren't from Dougie's mouth.
I wasn't there, but that's the quote ... including "at least". It's that which is awful.
and, apparently "we have a little more determination ... now" sort of says "we've been like a bunch of inspid tossers until the last few games" AND, may I point out, this has covered 4 draws and one win, 3 of the draws at home.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Simple plan today .... go one up on 5 minutes, then take off a striker (the striker ??) and bring on a 3rd deep-seated midfielder and defend for 85+ minutes.
Result.
Result.

You forget replacing Chungy/Eagles/Hall with Super Zat Knight with 15 minutes to go when we need a goal.

Re: Time to pop Boneymouth's cherry
Bournemouth, a holiday resort down that there south. That's about the extent of my knowlege of today's opponents. I mean, Bournemouth, come on.
We shouldn't laugh really, though because they're sitting comfortably mid-table with seven more points than the mighty Whites who have the magnificent total of ten from thirteen games. We are in fact, badly in need of even a smell of three points lately. I really don't want to have another Saturday tea-time with lead guts and a niggly headache from suffering ninety minutes of mixed hope and despair. I'm badly in need of jumping in the air and frightening the dog half to death when we bang one in the opponents net.
All it takes is three Wetabix, egg and bacon on toast with a dash of HP sauce (I prefer Daddie's really but the wife does the shopping) and a big mug of sweet tea. Surely Douggie can see this? Has the man actually ever been seen in Bolton? I don't mean Winter Hill, or Horwich, I mean Bolton. Get yourself down here man and get the lads hopping in and out of the fountains on the town hall square.Take a deep breath of a Bratwurst hot dog from the food waggon there then climb up the town hall steps and shout...COME ON YOU WHITES.....
