It was shut! When did that happen? Are there any half decent restaurants in Bolton any more?

I did wonder when you said Olive Press, but the last time I walked past, there were workmen inside. I assumed that someone else had opened it as summat else. Wish i'd said something now. Sorry!

It shut 2-3 years ago, maybe longer. In answer to your second question. No.

Where did you end up?

There are a number of decent ones in Horwich, fwiw.

Otherwise, I believe Manchester has a couple.

We had a few jars in Harvey's and ended in the Hen and Chicks but in between  went to the Olympus. Not what we intended but a good chat about the good old days. Stick to Manc next time though!

Not just me then, BP.

Can't think of a single decent restaurant in the town centre that you could have gone to otherwise though, Clappers. Really want to give that Persian place over by the Dole Office a run out but I don't know if they do a lunch.

Cheers, Bobo. Much obliged. So indeed, there isn't a single decent restaurant in Bolton town centre for lunch. :hang:

One on Great Moor Street did, but they've reopened on Bradshawgate in a much cleaner and brighter looking unit. Went t'other week. It was ok. It's between Great Moor Street and Nelson Square.

Closed yonks ago. Reopened as an Italian 'Prosecco' for a couple of years, now shut.

It's called Downtown now, I think. Was supposed to be a steakhouse. They seemed to get planning permission to open as a bar initially, but the restaurant never appeared. AFAIK.
