Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
I have no idea how Joey O'Brien gas accumulated 60 or so first team games for them at that level. OK, he was desperately unlucky with injury whilst with us, but that hid a very ordinary takent.
Nolan .... he has to have slowed down from his relatively slow pace with us. He's hardly a kid any more and that league just gets faster and faster. He clearly has strong leadership skills and a good footballing mind and I guess he'll go on into management. I've always liked the guy and will always wish him well but the complaints we had 5+ years ago remain. His real role is to be Allardyce's man on the pitch .... but I think, even if Sam survives, that this is his final season at this level .... With luck, coinciding with Wet Spam's final season at this level.
As an asude, did you know that if you phone that club it's number ends in "1966" ?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

EDIT: Anelka again!!!

May the bridges I burn light your way
Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
Anelka scoring poachers goals, Big Sam looking angry on the touchline, this game is taking me back to better times
Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
allegedly... In recent seasons, Mick McCarthy, Chris Hughton, Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo and Paolo Di Canio all played their last Premier League match against the Baggies before being shown the door at their respective clubs.
hmmmm.....
hmmmm.....

I suspect Sam is wishing he'd taken another punt on Anelka in the summer. If he hadn't already blown his budget on a knackered target man that is!

After an hour it's 1-2 to West Brom with Nico scoring both against his former manager (& Nolan, Jussi and JO'B).
Despite that some support him this will be a huge threat to Sam's tenure if it stays like this.

Incredible. Think Jussi should've done better there, too.

BBC ticker...
There were boos from the home crowd on the final whistle as another home game slips away without a victory.

Though BFSA had declared it a "must win game" ... & they didn't, at home, against a managerles team currently bottom of the 'form league'.
I guess that'd get boos at many places.

big sam blames the injuries...
"Cups don't mean anything any more. We worked our way to the League Cup semi-finals. It doesn't matter, what does is our Premier League status and getting points. They are secondary in our plight, especially with our injuries.
"I think the deciding factor [of staying up] will not be what January signings we make, but how quickly our injured players come back. If the players missing were fit, we'd have won the game. When you have six, seven players injured it's too much to cope."
