indeed - the measure is what happens on the pitch - fully agree. so - this Iles story is not (as someone said) "the last straw". your way of joining up the dots might be entirely correct, I'm just minded (in this case) to join up the dots in a different way and come to a different conclusion - such is the dazzlingy wondrous variety of life! my crayon joins the dots and reveals a picture of ordinary journalistic license... your pencil joins them and finds conclusive evidence of Dougie being a bag of wank... some might say we join the dots in such a way as to find the picture we most want to see, but I couln't possibly comment! :wink:
FFS did I make any comment on the 3 match selection policy or Dfs alleged use of it, my comment was about corroborating evidence to its veracity. You may think that you are an optimistic interpreter of the dots but strikes me you are as just as liable to pre judge or pigeon hole comments on the basis of the person and not what is written :wink:

We have less money now, we have less pulling power, we have less of a lot of things. Blame Coyle if you wish, it was that way regardless, but its no use expecting miracles from Dougie. He'll probably have to do it the Allardyce way, and grind us out of the division.
18 months isn't instant, and while we do have less money than we once did, we still have more money than most of the division. The wage bill was north of £30m in June and I'm struggling to see how that could've gone down in any significant way.

It does not take a footballing miracle to guide a side who'd just dropped out of the Premier League, with a big wage bill and enough cash to go out and spend £3m on one player, to be higher than 18th in the Championship.

I'm willing to bet that the list of managers who have come in and been an instant success at a club is considerably longer than the list of managers who have come in, been shite for two years and then suddenly had it all click into place.

YES. YES this is where I am. (sorry about the capitals :oops: )
Freedman has not been a success. It's very unlikely he will become one. Time IS running out to do anything about it...

Thanks for the reminder dibble.

Going by whats been previously said on here about DF team selection i.e he tells players when they'll be playing and for how long, i found this article quite interesting and full of Freedmanisms........

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11672/9141788/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

especially the quote......

"I can't guarantee anybody that they'll play next week, that's not my style, you've got to fight for your position. Everybody's under the same sort of mindset."

That's within two weeks of him saying " ... I will give my strikers a 6 game run". Then plays ... & sells N'Gog one game later, followed by playing ... & loaning out Cravies, one game later.

Pointing out that he's all piss & wind seems to upset some people but ffs. The only consistent thing about the dickwad is that he's never consistent.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

but if you ignore the verbage he is consistent as he did very similar pre-season - perhaps team selection during transfer windows is simply used as a shop window - perhaps he really wants to keep mears :)
