Well maybe that's it & we've smuggled in a starlet under the radar, & in standard form we've used a fake name much like when trialing a player on the sly. 'Oh, did we say Rubbishy McPetriov"? Surprise! We meant Mario McBrilliant, the famous talent, but we keeping it on the sly! Ha!.. ... .....can but hope.

:) Fair point, though our club seems to have trusted a Boro sales pitch or two recently. Anyone would think they're some kind of Lourdes fountain of football youth talent the way we sniff around their players.

We are skint.

So skint we can't even loan a defender for 4 months.

Christ on a bike.

There is something mega wrong going on here.

Trotter over a defender?

Dawson wanted to come here, but we can't fund the wages without someone going out and still comply with FFP.

Trotter is on a fraction compared to what it would cost us to take Dawson.

Might as well get used to it, we are only going to get skinter....

And there is the problem, all these good players on paper are going no where. Why? They know a good thing when they're on it.

Mears, Knight, Sordell and Eagles must be on a fair whack no? Darcy Blake, defender from Palace been released. Will he be the signing we make?

Based on what Iles is saying we can't bring in anyone else and still be the right side of FFP. So we need to get rid before bringing anyone in.

Not surprising really. Ngog going might have led Freedman to believe he could bring a few in. He said as much. Seemingly the club are not budging.

And even after Craig Davies going we still can't do any more deals.

Trotter is on 'league one wages' according to Iles.

I fear we are staring into a decade long or more abyss here.

We'll still be here though, right? Such a shame that it's gone down like this although I also fear we may never come back from this.

As for FFP as there is nothing agreed yet I'd have made the Dawson signing and worry about it at the end of the season

Can't see it. Eddie would have told him that we needed to comply with FFP. It's a dangerous tactic

FFP is laid out. And fines and transfer bans can be imposed next season. Whether they will be or not is anyone's guess.

But I guess either Gartside and Davies are using it as an excuse to cut costs and save money or they genuinely think you're in trouble if you don't comply. Either way I did fear we could end up here if we ever went down. The precedents are there. Let's hope we can do a Southampton rather than a Coventry.....
