They can afford to go out and get a top manager and furnish him with the resources to rebuild their team.
We can do neither of those things.

Why not? They would've expected a transitional season, if the same happens next year, then he's gone....BWFC_Insane wrote:Can they afford to keep Moyes any longer? I'd say no.....

Hardly comparable? It bloody well is to me, mate. In fact it's far more pertinent in our case. Our position is considerably more precarious. Hasn't this occurred to you?BWFC_Insane wrote:It is hardly comparable is it?Bruce Rioja wrote:Says Freedman's biggest/only fan.BWFC_Insane wrote:Can they afford to keep Moyes any longer? Transitional, perhaps. Scrambling around in 7th? Nah. Relatively that is probably their equivalent to Bolton being bottom of the championship. Or something like that.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Why not? IMO they cannot afford, to miss out on the champions league. Not financially, but more in terms of their ability to attract the top players they need.

Our expectations and relative judgement of performances is totally different to Man Utds always has been.Bruce Rioja wrote:Hardly comparable? It bloody well is to me, mate. We are in a precarious position and not just this season or our league position. I can only see a lot of struggle for us for a long while now, irrespective of who our manager is.

Guess it all depends on how it's sold to them. Look at Suarez at Liverpool...he wanted out to play CL football.....yet he's still there......and will possibly play CL football with them..BWFC_Insane wrote:Transitional, perhaps. They won't sack him, this season....
Re: Tonight's Football
No chance missing the top four will stop players going I don't think. Not the first time. Let's say Everton, or even Liverpool or Spurs get 4th and you pick between them and Utd. They'll still go with the Rags.

I only care about our position. Our expectations are relative to those of supporters of absolutely any other club!BWFC_Insane wrote: Our expectations and relative judgement of performances is totally different to Man Utds always has been.

Re: Tonight's Football
There are only so many genuine top players and those that are available IMO will be more likely to go to a champions league side. Not necessarily Everton or Liverpool, but say Chelsea and Man Utd want the same player, it could seriously hamper UTD in what looks like a big rebuild to me.....Prufrock wrote:No chance missing the top four will stop players going I don't think. Is he getting people to re-learn how to run yet ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Man Utd and Bolton, aye I suppose the two situations really warrant 'consistency'.jaffka wrote:the behind the scenes stuff though is apparently tremendousBWFC_Insane wrote:Can they afford to keep Moyes any longer? I'd say no.....

Nobody on here is consistent, least of all you. It is an ever changing world.
Re: Tonight's Football
oh, I am consistent in that I want and enjoy seeing manure struggle and lose. I am more than happy that Moyes is at the helm overseeing this downturn in their fortunes. Appears that you aren't!BWFC_Insane wrote:Man Utd and Bolton, aye I suppose the two situations really warrant 'consistency'.jaffka wrote:the behind the scenes stuff though is apparently tremendousBWFC_Insane wrote:Can they afford to keep Moyes any longer? I also want Bolton to do well, win games etc...that isn't happening, clearly. I think any idiot would agree with that

Sounds pretty consistent to me.
Re: Tonight's Football
Moyes will have till the end of the season imo.
The above post is complete bollox/garbage/nonsense, please point this out to me at any and every occasion possible.

Re: Tonight's Football
He'll have until around this point next year minimum, in my opinion. The fans in the stands support him. They know he's got a big job on his hands and his previous record shows he is a capable manager. Took him a while to turn Everton from a bunch of cloggers to a regular top half + side.

The oft quoted line from Utd fans I know is 'These players won the league last season.....'boltonboris wrote:He'll have until around this point next year minimum, in my opinion. I'm not convinced patience is as prevalent as suggested, from the fans at least. Were Fergie not telling them all they should back him, there'd be Moyes out chants I reckon..... The owners and board, I think will stick with him though.
Interesting to see if he can turn it round.
It is all relative, but in terms of being the 'Manchester United manager' his previous record is in my view incredibly questionable.
