Indeed. But then football in general is very boring, and it seems to be the main topic people bang on about here.

Why not talk about something else more interesting?

Cricket - that's good. Read this, and tell me you don't like cricket:
http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/m ... ay-cricket" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Or beer. Or whisky. Or cats.

Any of those things are better than football.

I like the idea of cricket. I feel like I should like it, but beyond the Ashes it just gets me all a bit meh.

Beer is ace. Whisky is ace. And cats are also ace. To say otherwise is a child-like opinion!

look... I know more about cats than you do. you're wrong - they are rubbish - and the fact that you disagree with me just convinces me that i am right.

It doesn't matter, and there is no point to it.

But that means any of it. We're born, we live for 70ish years. We die, alone, and are forgotten.

In however many billion years, the universe will have wound down, and undergone heat death.

Deal with it.

This is nothing more than racism.

Absurd prejudice against the race of cats.

Mods - ban him.

I suppose you're going to try and tell us that racism is a bad thing now?

Would there ever be a situation where racism is acceptable?

I think there would, in certain specific and desperate situations.

Accept that you're powerless and it's all pointless.

Alternatively you could take comfort from the fact that right now is a statistical fluke. You are overwhelmingly probably dead, and the fact that right now you actually happen to be alive is a bloody miracle so make the most of it.

That's my advice.

Also, in light of the above. I'm beginning to question spending quite so much of my time arguing about cats on the internet. Precious time wasted I should be spending in the pub. Or pretending to like cricket. Or pretending to like cricket in the pub.

you could spend the night pretending to be a cat in a box wondering if you exist or not...

I'd keep away from heights and sharp objects today lad.

As an aside, not to send the thread too off topic (ahem) I only found out the other day the Schrodinger was taking the piss with his cat theory. I was a lot happier when I found that out.

Alcohol makes me happy. I'm only an existential nihilist when I can only think of alcohol. I'm off to the pub in ten minutes though, so it'll all be OK soon.
