We could have beat City in the shield! Boyata was playing FFSGooner Girl wrote:I'm quite happy for everyone to write us off. Wouldn't want to be favourites anyway. Agree City and Chelsea will be our real competition. Last season we received several thrashing from top sides, if we can avoid that this season I think we will be there or thereabouts, injuries and who Wenger buys dependant! I know it was pre-season but we beat City 3-0 in the Shield. Promising start.

I know they had a weakened team but so did we. 3 world cup winners out!ChrisC wrote:We could have beat City in the shield! Firstly, it has absolutely no information as to how and when it was collated, but more importantly it's spectacularly selectively edited! I note it has 'shooting accuracy' but not 'goals'. I wonder why that is? It also has 'chances created per 90 mins' whatever 'chances' are, but not 'assists'. Ozil is v high up in assists, but so is Fabregas.
In any case, it's not really the comparison with Ozil that counts. You aren't going to win anything with only one top class player. No-one was suggesting you get rid of Ozil to sign Fabregas! I bet you can't find one of those for Arteta, or Flamini, or Walcott, or Wilshere

I would have binned Cazorla for Fabregas.
Good player but doesn't turn up when it matters in big games.

Dirty Leeds looking like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. New manager for Saturday?

Just watching Ludogorets Vs Steaua Bucharest penalties. The Lud keeper was sent off so a defender is in goal. He scored the first pen then saved one.
And he's saved another to win it sudden death! What a star.
