If so it's apparently some German Baron who is in line! Unlikely I'd say.jaffka wrote:Will the descendants of the Stuarts be eyeing a Scottish crown?

Nationality doesn't matter in the game of crowns.
Re: You take the high road...
I have been nothing other than a casual observer of this. However, it seems to me that we are headed for a very close 'no' vote. That, to my mind, would suit all parties involved. Salmond and the rest of the 'yes' voters would be satisfied with the increased powers afforded to them by Westminster and the pro-union voters happy that Scotland remains a part of the United Kingdom.
Does that sound about right, or have I massively misunderstood it all?

you have somehow failed to mention that Salmond is a huge cock-face....

Sounds good to anyone except all of us down South who will have to live and pay for unfavourable terms!Nicko58 wrote:I have been nothing other than a casual observer of this. I suspect your particular part of the south benefits from hugely favourable terms!!!Hoboh wrote:Sounds good to anyone except all of us down South who will have to live and pay for unfavourable terms!Nicko58 wrote:I have been nothing other than a casual observer of this. They have. Their calculations show a 79% certainty of "No" .... not a 79/21 vote result.a1 wrote:think i read that a part of betfair have paid out on it being 'no' with the stats being 79-21 pc in "no's" favor .

That'd be funny though.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I believe thebish has this about right. Possibly a little too understated for my taste, but I'd hate to break the swear filter mid-server move.thebish wrote:

My favourite is that patriot Sean Connery. Wants independence and told anyone that would ask that they should vote yes. Wont be in Edinburgh for the vote as (his brother quoted in Edinburgh Evening News) he only has a limited number of days he can visit Scotland for tax reasons, and needs to use them wisely

Re: You take the high road...
Apparently the tattoo on Connery's arm here reads 'Scotland Forever'. Obviously he's had the 'I Will Leave' bit surgically removed from just above it.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:My favourite is that patriot Sean Connery. Is that the same "Sir Sean Connery" that had a beach-side villa in Spain for twenty (edit)-odd years and said he never got to talk with the locals because he couldn't understand Spanish. Re: You take the high road...
His villa was actually near San Pedro de Alcantara, where we stayed. There were so many fences around it it was no wonder he didn't communicate with the locals. They couldn't see him, never mind talk to him.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Probably. Comes across as a cock to me. Well, I doubt the locals would know what he meant by "Dosh shrevetha" anyway.
